Moving to Ottawa, need a good roommate
    Hi,

I'm Lisa, I'm 27. I'm artistic, laid back, somewhat of a smart ass. I enjoy helping people out and making them laugh. I'm writing a novel which I hope to get published when finished. I'm looking for a roommate to share half of the rent on a 2 bdrm apartment in Ottawa. If someone needs a roommate and already has a place please let me know. I have a small dog named Tommy that is quiet and pretty low maintenance. I am allergic to cats so I'm kind of a no cat zone.

Ideally I would like to live somewhere there is a fenced in yard (even a small one) so I can let the dog out to do his business without having to go up and down an elevator every time. If not then hopefully a ground floor apartment. The closer to downtown the place is the better but I'm also used to living in the West End as well so it's all good. My time line is not set. I'm not in a rush. I want to find a mature stable roommate that I can co-exist with happily. I'll leave it with a pic of me as my LJ icon and my dog. Email me with any questions or roommate opportunities and have a peachy day!

    Downtown Bachelors
Just thought I'd quickly post and ask if anyone was aware of any decent-sized bachelor apartments in the downtown area for no more than ~$700/month? We're a couple looking to rent so we're hoping to find somewhere we won't be constantly tripping over one another, if at all possible. I've been scouring Craigslist, Kijiji, etc. on a daily basis but just figured I might as well see if anyone here had first-hand reccomendations. Thanks!

    Apartment wanted - Oct 2009
I am a single 25 year old woman who is looking for an apartment that welcomes feline pets for a one year lease beginning October 1st 2009.

The apartment must provide a fridge, stove, as well as telephone jacks. The apartment must be located close to regular public transportation, a laundromat, grocery store, and a pharmacy. I am looking for a home between a large 1 1/2 to a 3 1/2 located in Gatineau, Hull, or Aylmer.  It is definitely preferable that hydro be included in the rent.

I am beginning studies at Heritage College for a 3 year technical program. I am hoping to find a place that is within a reasonable price range as I back to school and receiving student loans and bursaries.

    Proper Property Management
    Hello,

This is a long shot, but I'm looking for some information about Proper Property Management, they own several buildings in Ottawa, including a friend of mine's. Google hasn't turned up any useful information, neither has the craigslist forums.

My friend lives at 353 Frank st, which is connected to 357 and owned by Proper Property Management. Apparantly the owners name is John Dimitrijevic.
This building is often in disrepair. The front door has had a key broken off in the lock for over 2 weeks now, when all they need to do is call a locksmith. There was a leak from the water heater in the basement for months that caused mold in the hall.

We heard from someone else in her building that the landlord has been in court already this year because of other buildings he owns.
However, not sure how true that is, it was just neighbour gossip.

I'm looking for information from other tenants who live in buildings owned by this man/company.
My friend has had a broken shower that needs to be replaced for a few days, and the repair person (an old man who usually doesn't show up and does a terrible job at most things he tries to fix) didn't show up on monday like he was supposed to.
it looks like this will be an uphill battle. My friend has called the city in the past and nobody from property standards ever showed up. She called several times, about the leak and garbage bags left in the hall, with no result.

I want to know if this guy John has actually been to court about his properties, and hear any stories other tenants of his might have.

    Thanks for any info.

     Hi everyone,
My friend and I are on the hunt for either a 2 bedroom apartment or 2 rooms in an apartment where people need roommates!
We're not overly picky, as long as it's relatively close to Carleton and clean- we should be good! We can both pay up to 500 but would prefer something around 400. So if anyone has any leads, please let me know! Any info would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks guys

1 bedroom in house available June 1, $500
Hello! I'm looking for a 3rd roommate for my house in Hull. There are currently 2 female students. We're looking for a student or young professional, very clean and reasonably quiet.

We're right near Galleries de Hull, and IGA, Zellers, etc. 4 mins walk to various buses to downtown Ottawa, which is about a 25min ride.

I have two cats, so must be cat friendly.

Rent is $500, including hydro, but excluding phone and internet. The current availability is for June 1 to the end of August, but there is a possibility to renew for the year if we're all happy with the arrangement.

    Apartments at Lees?
I know this has been asked before, but alas, I can't find it. (If you know, can you link me?)

I'm thinking of living in the Bona Vista/Citadel buildings - the two sandwiched between Lees and the Queensway (169 and 171) - but I've heard some pretty nasty rumours about roaches and smells and general unpleasantness in the Lees area. As these are things I definitely want to avoid (especially roaches!), can anyone tell me - which apartments in the Lees area are NOT sketchy? (Building numbers/descriptions appreciated.)

    Thanks!
