Ever wanted to see what your favorite character would do if they'd taken a different turn down the long winding road of life? What if Darien Fawkes had agreed to Arnaud deThiel's bargain in that bunker in Mexico? What if Ezekiel Stone had gone to Heaven? What if this one had never turned evil? What if this one had never returned to good? What if a scheme didn't go as planned, or someone's life was cut short? What if they didn't test positive for that disease? What if their grandfather didn't save them from the clutches of the terrible villain who was trying to kidnap him?
Or what if they were just a little different? What if they had more of a temper, or had a fear of spiders, or who knows what?

The alternate version of your character can be from canon or made-up. It can be the same character with a totally different personality (how would Tom Jones be different if he was well behaved?) -- or the same character who has simply gone through different experiences upon reaching the bar at the end of the universe (how would Harry Potter be different if his parents hadn't died?). The point of divergence is completely up to you.
Otherways canon information:
Meg Giry's tutu became sentient at some point almost two years past. The thing was demonically possessed and it cut a swath through the bar, killing 80-90% of the patrons. This is commemorated by what is refered to by the survivors as Tutu Day (T-Day) which is November 1st.Anyone with any sort of extrasensory perception can feel the death and the blood still in the bar. Nick, who is connected with the bar space itself (not the counter, the building) does what he can, but there are still shadows and pain and memories in the wood itself. As summarized/linked here, the events of Tutu Day (2006) have released all spirits and all negative energies lingering in the bar from the original massacre. Please see link for details.
The tutu was defeated by Zeke Stone, who sent it to Hell. He's reguarded as something of a hero for this, but most folks wonder why it took him so long to kill it.
To join:
1) Check the cast list to make sure your character isn't taken. If they are, make sure YOUR other is different from THEIR other. Two of the same character is allowed as long as the versions are different.
2) Make or use a journal for your character. Please make sure there's contact info on it, a disclaimer, some sort of canonical information, and a listing of what your Other!quality is.
3) Using your character's journal, join this community.
4) YOU MUST BE CONSIDERED AN ADULT IN YOUR COUNTRY. In most cases, this means you must be at least eighteen years of age.
5. Set up and write a coherent backstory for your character, showcasing what makes them different from canon. You character cannot be the same person that they are canonically! The difference can be as small as who they're in a relationship with, or as large as a complete personality overhaul. The general rule is, if the character's current life and situation don't make people familiar with their normal canon go "Huh?", you haven't altered enough.
Once you have the backstory written up, send it (AND a short bit on why and how it's different from your current character, in case we aren't familiar with your canon) to otherways_mods@yahoo.com and/or danii.debrabant@gmail.com.
