| About: | BEFORE PLAYING/JOINING, PLEASE READ THE RULES- Just a friendly little game of picking the nominations and winners for the Golden Globes and Oscar 2008. Two games. Here's how it works: ***NOTE: Due to the WGA strike and the decision by the HFPA to cancel the 65th Annual Golden Globe award ceremony, the Gold Globes portion of the contest will not be held this year. Please check in after January 22, 2008 and participate in our Oscar Contest!*** We'll have a "warm up" game, consisting of picking the winners for the Golden Globes - MOVIE CATEGORIES ONLY. The person who picks the most amount correct will be the winner. Should there be a tie, the names of those who had the most correct amount of winners will be put into a hat, and I'll have the first, unbiased person that crosses my path pick a name. (Hey, this ain't Publisher's Clearing House, y'know?) The winner will receive a CD of their choice (as long as it's available through Amazon.com) that will not exceed $14.00 USD. This contest ends the night before the Golden Globe Awards are announced. (That means Saturday, 12 January 2008 at 23:59) Our final prize-game will be to guess the most correct amount of Oscar winners. This game will start Tuesday, 22 Jan. 2008 (Once I compile the nominations list and get them into a "poll"). The person who picks the most amount correct will be the winner. Should there be a tie, the names of those who had the most correct amount of winners will be put into a hat, and I'll have the first, unbiased person that crosses my path pick a name. The winner will receive a DVD of their choice (as long as it's available through Amazon.com) that will not exceed $20.00 USD. This contest ends the night before the Academy Awards are announced. (Saturday, 23 February 2008 at 23:59) PLEASE NOTE: This ends up being a two-part poll. I can't tell you how many people forget to do the second part of the poll and don't win because of it. You have been warned!!! Once you place your picks, you can't change them, so choose wisely. I have a dog, I'm used to things begging at my feet, it isn't going to work on me. And let's keep this friendly, please? I don't want to have to deal with cheaters or hackers. It's only a freaking CD/DVD, deal with it. I will only accept contest submissions from the polls. Please do not email me your guesses as I will not consider them in the contests. Of course, please use this community to chat about the awards. Who should/shouldn't win, interesting facts, etc. Just keep it civil. Violators will be eaten by Snuggles, the Three-Eyed Piranha. | |
