Pull up a pen and a piece of paper - or open a Word doc - and join the Original Fic Fest!

The OFF is like any other fic fest, except instead of it being fanfiction (stories centered around a universe that has already been published in some form - i.e. Buffy, X-Men, Harry Potter), it is centered around original fiction. Story prompts are created by those who wish to participate or read, and authors will claim pairings to write by a certain date. Stories will be posted by the authors in a two-week period for all to read and enjoy!

Claim a prompt between: August 24, 2006-October 31, 2006
Stories posted between: October 31, 2006 (just in time for Nano!)

FAQ

1. Can I claim more than one prompt?

Yes, you can claim more than one prompt, but please try not to claim more than you can write in the time period!

2. Can more than one person claim a single prompt?

Yes, up to five people can claim any prompt. People's imaginations are so different, it'll be interesting to see how five different authors write the same one!

3. Can I write fanfic if I want?

No. This is an original ficfest so we can all stretch our original fic mental muscles.

4. Is there any subject matter that is not allowed?

If sex or explicit sex is a part of your fic, all characters participating should be of legal age (18 in most places). If you have problems with this, or aren't sure if something you've written is appropriate, ask me! Besides that, no. However, I do ask that all fic is clearly labeled with a 'rating' and any warnings that are necessary.

5. What type of warnings are necessary?

I knew this one was coming. :D I ask that you warn for sex, explicit sex, drug use, character death, rape, torture, incest, bestiality, BDSM, 'slash' (same-sex pairings), 'het' (different-sex pairings). Basically, if you'd have problems explaining it to your grandma, please warn for it. Some things just aren't some people's cups of tea.

6. Are there age restrictions for the authors?

Yes. You must be of eighteen years of age when you claim your prompt to participate. Sorry, no exceptions.

7. Are there length restrictions for the fic?

Well, it'd be great if each was at least 500 words in length, but I won't be counting. :)
