LOL

No, the only rats I ever have been around were living under my house as unwelcomed guests.

But I am sure they are lovely pets. I will take your word for it :)

Comparing wild rats to domestic rats is like comparing a Poodle to African Wild Dogs. Domestic rat SHOWS have been around 100 years, and rats have been bred as pets over 150 years so they are VERY differnt from their wild cusions :)

Rats are *nothing* like other rodent pets like mice, and hamsters. I'm not a 'rodent' person, but I adore my 'cat dogs'. Rats are smart, social, loyal, and most mine even know their names and come when called!

Rats are used in most behavior testing for humans, and their dietary needs are almost identical to that of humans. Actually most knowledge on human behavior, and health needs are based on rat studies!

I really don't see rats as 'rodents', but more like dogs. Like I said, I'm not a 'rodent' person, I hate Hamsters, Gerbils, and Mice, but rats are more like dogs than ANY other animal, and they are as, or more clean than cats.

Obviously not the pet for everyone, but they don't deserve the bad reputation their destructive wild cusions give them!
