For this price, it should come in whatever color you want.

Colors? Whatever. My concern is performance. The mini 3 has been palgued by a range of software and hardware issues...in addition to just not being as slick as originally conceived...but that product was inexpensive enough that you could take a chance. Those issues coupled with the fact that this thing has been smoke and mirrors for so long pretty much stick a fork in this thing for me. When a major manufacturer markets something like this, I'll be interested.

Oh yeah, make mine black.

My guess is it's to make black buttons easily distinguishable on a white background and to soften the "screens-are-too-bright" effect.

Or it could just be because most of the new Apple case designs are white.
I don't think the tiny oleds, generally displaying an image with a black background, are in danger of appearing too bright.

I think if I would have pre-ordered this keyboard, I would be really pissed.

Brushed aluminum looks cool.

Plastics that are made to look like brushed aluminum look so-so.

This 60s reminiscent thingo looks like the old soviet keyboards...but I guess it wont be so reliable.

I much prefer mine to be in black... well, I prefer the black render anyway...

But, will it be possible for me to take apart the plastic and make an aluminium cover for it instead? I think Optimus Maximus will be awesome in aluminium...

I agree. An aluminum housing would make the Optimus look really grand, and would much better justify the price. I'm concerned about the heft/feeling of quality that it will have as a plastic keyboard. If it flexes like a normal keyboard, with all the added weight of the screens in the keys, it will be very difficult to justify the $1500+ expense.

Downside is that it gets dirty very easily compared to any other color. Have you seen even clean beige keyboard which has been used for few years?

Not all that much related to this article but whatever. I got my keyboard yesterday and it's fantastic. I guess it will take a while to get used to it (bigger buttons and especially a few keys in a different position because I am used to a German keyboard) but it's nice to type on it - the quality of the screens is also better than I expected. Heck it even smells nice :)

Glad I bought it!
