ER: DUUUUUUUUDE THIS SHOW IS SO ROCKING RIGHT NOW. And hey, it's Shiri Appleby and she's not annoying the hell outta me.

CSI: That was... okay... A little cheesy and over the top but... Yeah... Poor Warrick :(

Supernatural is on right now and C'MON DEAN - BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA HIM! KICK 'EM IN THE BALLS! "I'm not going to let it go that far." <--- FAMOUS LAST WORDS. ROFL.

I'm yelling, "KICK HIS ASS!" a lot at the TV right now. It's only eight minutes in...

I think I'm going to watch The Office at 9pm and the Life On Mars at 10pm.

Covenant Squee...
I LOVE THIS SONG.

'Hardware Requiem'

Ignore the fact that the YouTube clip there just has a picture of a bunch of computer in a pile. Just listen to the song.

And I couldn't find a good live clip of 'Like Tears In Rain' (<---aren't they obvious Blade Runner fans?) so here's one that has a little slide show of Eskil, Joakim, and Clas being pretty with a couple appearances by Daniel:

And someone made a Blade Runner vid to the song 'Replicant':

... I'll stop.

Probably my only political post ever...
Mom, dad, and I were watching All My Children. Dad had the recorder on because mom was making lunch during the first few minutes.

Anyways, after it was over he shut it off and realized that he set the recorder for the wrong channel, so we ended up recording part of Obama's speech on MSNBC.

We put it in fast motion (everything is much cooler and amusing in fast motion) and watched it.

Before I say anything else, I must say that I hate politics. I hate both parties on the American side. Canadian side? It's no different, just instead of two major parties we have five to choose from (though really, if you look at it - there are just two big parties to choose from, the other ones are more for provincal and municipal). Politics annoy the frick out of me.

Obama was saying that McCain is going to cut taxes for big companies. Obama said that he's going to cut taxes for 95% of regular Americans and give higher taxes for big companies.

Now, this is how I understand taxes work...

If you give tax cuts for big companies they will have more money to create jobs, thus stimulating the economy.

If you raise taxes for big companies and lower it for workers, the big companies will look for cheap workers overseas. Yes, you Normal Job will pay less taxes, but unfortunately - you don't have a job to pay those remaining taxes with because your job just got shipped to Mexico because it's just so much cheaper to do things in Mexico.

We are the only ones right now who are celebrating, we are the dying ones...
Ah, Covenant.

I LUV U!

DON'T EVER CHANGE!

... Well, Clas left and now there's Daniel around, but...

I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS.

I want to marry Eskil's voice.

*blares music*

... I'm in a Covenant mood today.

WHERE'S MY SWEATER.

Edit:

Must. Share.

Edit again:

Heee! I love seeing Eskil's fedora off to the side. And his fight with the mike cord. And it's Daniel off to the side! Eee. I miss Clas though :(

Obviously from the DVD. I love this song. Michele can point out some of the people who are in the front row. I have no idea who they are. She talks to them (and Joakim) on the Covenant forum.

Hahaha. They love bouncing around on stage a lot.

Yes, me again:

I love this song, but MAN that just... doesn't look that much like Eskil...

Last one, I promise:

An oldie, but still a goodie. Eeee.

Valentine, also random Stargate Atlantis talk which ties into the Sopranos... Weird - I know...
Watched about three minutes of that new show Valentine and moved on to listening to the Dhoom soundtrack.

Yeah, not tuning in for any more of that show.

Edit:

Oh, and I read some more stuff about that episode of Stargate Atlantis (apparently the second to last episode of the entire show) called 'Vegas'.

Not only does it involve Sheppard getting tied up with a CSI-like investigation in a crime that was commited by a Wraith, but we also get the Wraith playing at the card tables with Bobby Baccalieri and Phil Leotardo.

... Rrrright, and people wonder why this show got cancelled...

Masti
Watched Masti last night. I made myself some nachos and ice tea and I was all set.

It was funny, it was cute, Ritesh Deshmukh was cute, and Ajay Devgan was smoking hot - but it was looooooooong. Almost three hours long. I didn't finish it until a little after 1am.

One thing that amused me greatly was the mother-in-law being a big WWF fan and talking about Kurt Angle and the Undertaker.

There were silly references to other movies and songs, one of them I would not have known if I had watched the film before yesterday (when one of the guy's coworkers was walking off after talking about getting a porn tape he was singing this 'Urvashi Urvashi' song that was by A. R. Rahman for some Tamil film).

One thing that I've noticed with watching films that have Ritesh Deshmukh in them is teh gay.

Kya Kool Hai Hum - his character falls in love with this woman's voice (and her money) and it turns out to be a guy, but he doesn't know that until near the end of the film so everyone thinks he's gay for most the film.

Apna Sapna Money Money - his character dresses in drag pretending to be his cousin's aunt, only for his cousin's girlfriend's father to fall in love with him and they almost ended up getting married.

Heyy Babyy - there was a moment in the 'Mast Kalander' musical number which has the groom hitting on him after Ritesh's character accidentally presented him with a flower, plus a couple little jokes.

In Masti here throughout the whole movie one of the doctors who worked in the same clinic as his character (his character was a dentist) thought he was having a gay love affair with one of his best friends.

Anyways, like I was saying... It was funny, cute, but just way too long. They really could have cut it down and it would have been even better... And I wish Ajay Devgan had a bigger role. He was credited first in the film, but he didn't really have that huge of a role.

Eklavya: The Royal Guard
After watching Black I went to bed and started watching Eklavya: The Royal Guard, then finished it this morning.

I am really quite impressed. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time - well, I was lying in bed the whole time with Fez sleeping on me, so I wasn't literally on the edge of my seat, but if I was sitting on a seat I surely would have been on the edge of it.

It had a pretty big name cast. Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sharmila Tagore - among a couple others.

I'm used to seeing Amitabh Bachchan as the angry young man, or the smooth talking gambler, or the shy professor, or the eccentric teacher, or the loud father. At first it was a little odd to see him as the loyal guard, but I was left throughly impressed by his wide range of acting abilities.

Even in his 60s he's still got it.

Black
I finally got around to watching Black. I bought it a while back when YashRajFilms.com was having a sale.

Anyways... Uhh... I don't really know what to say.

It... wasn't awful. It had some touching moments, but...

I wouldn't call it Oscar material like the back of the DVD case - which I must say is beautiful. I love the black and white (duh) with high contrast.

And I gotta wonder what the braille on the front cover says. Perhaps a movie summary... Or a bunch of gibberish. Huh.

Oh, and on the Drona front? Would love to go, but in the long haul? Not worth the money.

I found out that Drona (which came out yesterday and I've been dying to see ever since I heard about it) is in a theater in Winnipeg.

They have 3:30pm and 7:30pm showings this weekend.

I'll update the situation as it unfolds.

Andaz
Last night I watched Andaz.

Not the 1971 film starring Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini, and Rajesh Khanna. I have that one, and I have yet to watch it.

I watched the 1949 film starring Dilip Kumar, Nargis, and Raj Kapoor.

I must say that this is the first film in which I've seen either Raj Kapoor or Dilip Kumar. I must say that Dilip Kumar? I can take or leave him. But there's just something about Raj Kapoor... Can't put my finger on it.

With all the Raj/Nargis scenes, I couldn't help but think how much of their real life relationship poured on screen.

For the first while of the film, it was a little slow. But after Raj Kapoor showed up? That's when things started to heat up, and the ending? I had chills.

Spoilers for the ending - in short form. )
