I am in America. Seen in Bethesda: A "Women For McCain" bumper sticker. My immediate reaction: "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG." I could write an entire diatribe on the ridiculousness of Women For McCain, but I'm tired and want to go make dinner. And by "make dinner" I mean "watch thehefner make me dinner". DO YOU HEAR THAT, BOY. GET IN THE KITCHEN AND MAKE ME A SANDWICH. (PS he would like you all to know that, actually, he's making me gourmet quesadillas with fresh pico de gallo salsa. "And you're going to LIKE IT! If you want to.") (PPS NOM NOM NOM) |

SO COOL Walking robot thing. It looks like it could be the guts for an animatronic Silent Hill monster, but in motion it's just so peppy! That ends up making up for the freakiness, at least for me. I want to give it a hug. And ride on it. ETA: ETA2: I totally got the front legs backward on that pic. :( Also, check the comics for more adorable robot action! |

I keep imagining the wavylines + harp effect in this comic. Seriously, fuck flashbacks. I can't seem to integrate them without it feeling way cheesy. |

The concert: Pretty awesome, tho I spent more time watching the screen then the musicians. Was bad at whispering things to Ju PORQUE MARIA, but the atmosphere was a lot lighter. Saw a few people in all out cosplay, and a few in half assed like me self. Also, knew like...none of the music. But it was gorgeous music, so it worked out. Also, the guyNE MORE SONG!" And the audience was like "FUCK YEAH!" and he was like "...TERRA'S THEME!" and the audience was like "...are you fucking kidding." and then after that he was like "LOL ONE MORE!" And every Sephiroth fan was pleased. :3 And, due to this troll BTW I love you guys :3 I remembered one of the awesome parts of having teh chub. It helps reveal how ugly people are before you waste time befriending them. It took me a LONG time to get out of the mindset of "I need to loose weight so people will like me!" to realize that I don't WANT the people who judge "Weight" as part of what makes a good friend. Not that I'm sating being over weight is GOOD, just that people who are douche bags about it? Yeah, bad. I'm also ridiculously disappointed I will probably not get Axel at AT. Like...I don't understand why/how I got so attached. But I am. Dammit. |

wat Why do I keep getting anonyspam on this post? They're all variations of "well done," and I got a "favorited this one" post just a sec ago. There don't seem to be any links or anything, which makes the whole thing all the more baffling. |

So. Finally poked at that "Her Majesty's Dragon" stuff.
...Kind of devoured the book whole, in one night. Didn't get much sleep.
The short review? Someone read the Pern series and said "...So what if we had them on Earth instead of Pern?" and couldn't shake this idea off until like...2/3 of the way through the book. |

Philosophy quiz woo | |
| You Scored as Utilitarianism Your life is guided by the principles of Utilitarianism: You seek the greatest good for the greatest number.

“The said truth is that it is the greatest happiness of the greatest number that is the measure of right and wrong.”
--Jeremy Bentham

“Whenever the general disposition of the people is such, that each individual regards those only of his interests which are selfish, and does not dwell on, or concern himself for, his share of the general interest, in such a state of things, good government is impossible.”
--John Stuart Mill

I can't really say I agree with that completely, but I guess it's close enough. :/ ETA: Link to quiz because the code seems to suck badly. |

So my mom is pretty sure she knew George Takei's husband pretty well in HS. She's not 100% sure it's him, but she messaged him on Myspace. Lol.
Also, PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ GOOD OMEN'S, SOME COSTUME HELP!
For my Crowley costume, should I do wings, since that's what the book SAYS, or horns since that's what the book SHOWS one cover, etc (And seems more Crowley-tastic)
I have the supplies for both, but I can sell my wings to my Azrifail.
My tooth is being a bitch and a half. D: |

Well, that's over Yesterday at 4.30 pm our time, my grandmother passed away, comfortably, peacefully, and with her family. I regret that I couldn't have been there with her, but I'm glad it went as nicely as could be hoped for.
I think most of us got the bulk of the dealing with things out of the way over the weekend, so I'm at work and functional. No service, so I'll still be around.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers, thoughts, and support. It really helps a lot, even if it seems like very little. |

Liz called me tonight and told me that she and Annie showed our cousin Katherine the Wizard of Oz today as she hadn't seen it before. How on Earth did she make it to 13 without seeing Glinda look like a giant Barbie doll in that huge dress? o_O
Liz reckons she's giving Kath a movie education these holidays since she hadn't seen a lot of the movies we think are awesome. She's already shown her a few films we enjoy, such as Now and Then. At this point her main ideas for the next ones are Return to Oz, and the animated Oz movies. I reckon The Craft should be on that list too if Kath hasn't seen it already. Good fight scenes, and more Fairuza Balk. :D |
