scritchscratch.com!
Man! It's been forever since I've posted here! Plenty of new comics have gone up since then, but specifically over the last few weeks, including some for the new strip "Peas." Today is official "relaunch day". So I thought it would be an appropriate day to make a post here, and maybe try and garner some interest in my strips. I've been working on revamping the site and there is now a "Peas" section, as well as an overall site redesign to make it a little sleeker and simpler, and I did new drawings for all the different pages (like "contact", "about", etc) and the Cyrius section has been redesigned as well! Here's todays comic: The RSS feeds are up and working again too. All the comics now go through the main page: http://www.scritchscratch.com And of course each of the comics still has it's own individual pages.... Darling I'm Dying I haven't posted a link to this in over a year, so hope it's ok to do so. darlingimdying has been running for just over five years. Each picture is taking me a VERY long time to do, but I've managed to get 12 done this year so far and hope to keep that up. Can't reveal what it's actually about, but it would be encouraging to have a few more readers - so if you like the look of it, I'd be really pleased if you would consider adding it to your LJ friends list - comments are always very welcome. PS: It's not particularly explicit, but it's not written with children in mind, so please avoid if you are one. | | Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 | 7:01 pm [brass_mods]

Forgive me if this is off-topic, but since the game I'm running is based off a professional, web-published comic I figured it would be relevant to your interests. If this doesn't belong here, yell at me and I'll take it down. :) ( Brassburg: A Multifandom Girl Genius-verse Roleplay )OPENS MAY 15TH AT 5PM | 6:28 pm [oofacomic]

Check us out!! Great comic www.objectsofamusement.com Objects of Amusement follows the twisted adventures of the Industrial/Rock band known and the Gas House Gorillas. Originally formed in the summer of 2006, GHG chose their name as tribute to a classic animated baseball team after being told repeatedly that they were practically living cartoons. Their wild antics are now documented here for all to see. When the band isn't out touring they like to spend their time relaxing at the Feng Shui Cafe and the Stone Harbor Brewing Company among other places. Whether home or away, the Gas House Gorillas have devoted their lives to entertaining people (often times by accident) so join the adventure as it unfolds and check back often. Be sure to take a minute to sign up for an account with us if you like what you see here. Registered users will have access to cool content that the average public won't get to see. They are the Gas House Gorillas, and they are....Objects of Amusement. www.objectsofamusement.com Thanks for taking a peak!! Donovan, Don, Kyle | | Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 | 7:30 pm [factitiouslj]

Request Comics
Remember when Randy Milholland asked Something Positive readers to match his yearly salary in donations, and they totally did? I'm going to see if Request Comics readers can pull that off too. I'm unemployed, so the target value is $0. If you want to support request-based photocomicry, come check out the donation drive at http://www.requestcomics.com/donate.html. Even if you donate nothing, that'll go a long way toward my goal. Especially if you donate nothing. | | Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 | 9:14 am [somerled]

Secret Vespers
Here is a webcomic you might not already know, since it is not yet in the community's interests list. It's called Secret Vespers, and I write it. It doesn't have a plot, is hardly ever funny, is often abstract, is sometimes obscure, and I hope you will love it anyway. Here is a recent post, one of my favorites, if slightly bitter:
http://secretvespers.com/2009/03/18/ribbon-poetry/There is also a section to Secret Vespers called Lovesick, which is all prose, written from the points of view of deranged, frustrated, romantic dreamers calling into the void. The site has an LJ feed I'd also like to plug: secretvespers | | Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 | 8:39 am [mister_wolf]

CALL FOR SORDID CITY BLUES GUEST ART Sordid City Blues is a comic book about real life. It focuses mainly on conflicts based on spirituality, morality, and purpose, rather than on matters of life and death. The characters are ordinary people -- young people living in the city, because that was what I was when I started work on it many years ago. The story draws heavily from my life and experiences, but is not really autobiographical. I've never met a true story that couldn't be improved by a fistful of carefully chosen lies.I will be coming to the end of a major story arc in about 20 weeks, and I am looking to take a short break after that. If you are interested in writing and/or drawing a strip, short story or pin-up for Sordid City Blues, let me know in the comments. I can't promise you anything beyond exposure to my small but discerning audience, but hey, that's something, right? | | Saturday, February 14th, 2009 | 12:38 am [selfishsteam]

HEY YOU GUYS LOOK AT ME I MADE SOME COMICS
::SHAMELESSLY X-POSTED TO WEBCOMICS. DEEPEST APOLOGIES, I ASSURE YOU.:: I've enjoyed reading about everyone's comics for a while now, and I've even picked up a few regular reads because of this group. Now I thought I should share what I've been working on. I have three webcomics that you might want to check out, if you are into checking out webcomics, which I figure you are, because, well, I'm really smart. Orcaskine is the longest running at this point, with 125+ strips. There are a lot of strips because I draw it in a tiny Moleskine comic/storyboard notebook with pens (no pencils = no do-overs), and it takes about 10 minutes from beginning to end. It's pretty self-gratifying, but some people have really taken to it, which is beyond my understanding. It's about an Orca who says ridiculous things and harbors some serious issues. Updates Tuesdays and Fridays. orcaskine_feed Baristocracy is based on my experiences as a barista in Portland, which a lot of folks here can relate to. It generally revolves around coffee-nerd jokes, but hopefully is accessible to people who aren't in the industry. Updates Mondays, in a perfect world. baristocracy I Can't Take Me Anywhere is another pen-first comic. It's a journal comic that is at least inspired by real-life, and sometimes are actual events. Minimal color usage and totally inconsistent art style. Pretty good jokes, though. Not on any real update schedule, but there are at least one or two new strips per week. ictmaIt would be awesome if you were to check these out, and let me know if you like them! Honestly though, if you don't like them, I don't want to hear about it cuz I've already heard everything. I MEAN EVERYTHING. Thanks dudes and other dudes! Total Times! | 12:00 am [ivan_henley]

Moving to a hosting site.
So, I know this one web comic who is hosted on LJ, and uses Photobucket to store their comics. Each 'episode' has 10-20 pages, and they have over 100 episodes, so that means at most they have 2,000 images. Photobucket has bandwidth limits, and Comicgen requires filenames to be YYYYMMDD, so are there any free webcomic hosts that do not require them to rename their files? Recomboodle your browsers, post haste!
I apologize to those that may see this message twice (as I posted it to webcomics as well), and as such, have changed key phrases for comedic effect. My internets (ALL of them!), were recently hacked, specifically my webcomic, Way Too Late. I learned a valuable lesson (upgrading wordpress closes security holes!) and will not repeat them anytime soon. Now then, some of you may remember my comic from the one or two posts I made about it on this journal. Most others will not know what the hell I'm talking about and will stop reading after the first line. This is not for those people. This is for the beautiful people that enjoy my comic and would like to keep reading it. FRET NOT! This is not a donation request! I have not and will not (and cannot) make one cent off of the comic! This is just a notice to those wonderful souls that keep track of the comic via the livejournals. The new Way Too Late RSS feed on Livejournal is waytoolatetvcom! THIS IS THE ONLY FEED THAT WILL UPDATE FROM NOW ON! syn_waytoolate IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING! Switch accordingly! I've switched over to blogger.com for all my Way Too Lateing needs. I've had dormando (the best damn sysadmin ever!) make waytoolatetv.blogspot.com the destination of waytoolatetv.com. Thank you for your viewings, and may cthulhu mercifully eat you as one of the first when it awakes from its slumber under the ocean depths.. | | Monday, December 15th, 2008 | 10:43 am [angryjohnnys]

I hope I can solicit my works here. I wrote this awesome script about the future of the comic book bizness. I found a really talented artist too. It takes place at a comic con in the year of 2020. ( lj-cut )Please tell me if this is a good comic.(x-posted and dedicated to roostertree) | | Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 | 5:04 pm [anarchicq]
