About
An onee-gyaru is a term used to describe those ladies who decide to leave typical gyaru fashion, who have graduated from kogyaru style or want to become mature in their looks, whether it's yamamba, ganjiro or elsewise. Oneegyaru take on a more work or family oriented life as the next stage of their lives develop, getting married, having kids and living as luxe of a life as possible. But there are also university students who follow this style. The typical age range for an oneegyaru varies according to the gyaru, but usually those who are about 20 and older move into the oneegal style.
Some typical Oneegyaru magazines are: PINKY, CanCam, ViVi, Ranzuki.
Definition from ricoche.net: "A gal who is typically in her early to mid twenties who has reformed her previously Wild gal style into a sophisticated and understated form of ganguro. Many oneegyaru still tan and dye their hair light brown or blonde but choose to wear labels like LV,YSL,and Chanel."

| Name: Valerie What does Oneegyaru-kei mean to you?: To me, it's not just a way to dress, but also a lifestyle. I see oneegals as mature, strong, sexy and smart young women. Of course, like in every other gyaru style, following fashion trends is a must. You need to be pretty, both from the inside and outside. You need a good personality, but you also have to take care of your skin, your hair, your looks. When both looks and personality is balanced, you can become a pretty young woman who kicks ass! Any advices?: Oneegyaru-kei is something you can wear on a daily-basis. Don't try to over-dress, but work on your style! |
