woah...I had a dream of one piece last night and I think luffy was fighting
black beard,Its kind of hard to remember, but luffy was getting beaten up real
badly. he was lying on the ground all bloody and stuff...until their was
an awesome scene much like "wolf's rain's"ending scene where he's laying
there and he opens his eyes really wide and all the flash back are starting
to come. then I think Luffy suddenly gets this kind of power. xD It has absolutely
nothing to do with gomu gomu powers. It a very weird ability and I can't
even describe It,well kind of cause I forgot. I think he acually kills black
beard though and ends up destroying the building they were In. It was a freakin
weird dream though.I guess I had It cause I was watching One Piece and Pandora
Hearts amv's. xD oh their was more to the dream, but Its very vag and I can't
remember correctly. the outside was similar to the water 7 arc when the Aqua Laguna
came.

well for that matter I'm still shocked with the recent chapter of one piece.
I hope nothing bad happens or well I hope Ace doesn't die. It would make a tragic,
epic, and sad moment though If he died and luffy was their to witness It...

So I was talking to a friend of mine last night and the topic of Oda's increasing perversion came up, and we were speculating about it. She saw it coming as far back as Alabasta, which I can sort of see, but I still contend that Califa vs. Nami and the bath scene in Thriller Bark were just really surprising in that nothing like them was used in the series before. I said you could tell he has a crush on Nami because she's the one winding up in the most graphic situations, and she said she'd been wondering if he was doing it to get back at his wife for something. I wasn't really sure what she meant by that, but she mentioned something about Akira Toriyama making all his female characters bitches in the DB relaunch because she'd made him do it, or something to that effect, and so was sort of getting back at her through the comic. And then we started speculating that that was around the time Sanji really started taking it in the shorts in the series, too, and since Oda's wife listed Sanji (or specifically, Mr Prince) as her favorite character, we discussed that a little, too (especially just how perverted Sanji's become lately, as opposed to his behavior earlier in the series, and especially the uncomfortable parallels to Absolam that were drawn during their fight). So I have absolutely no idea how much (if any) truth is behind it, but I thought it might be fun to discuss. Anyone else have any theories as to why One Piece's pervosity's gone off the scales recently, or why Oda seems so bound and determined to make Sanji's life a living hell?

(This is just meant in fun and not intended to start any rumors, or whatever, I was just mulling it over and thought it might be fun. Apologies if this has come up elsewhere.)

Edit: There seems to be a slight misunderstanding. I'm not comparing OP's fanservice to other manga, I'm just comparing it to itself and contrasting how characters were presented for a long time (yes, even counting the pretty mild fanservice in Alabasta and Skypeia), compared with the fights in Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark.

And also, like I said above, this wasn't intended to be a serious discussion, it's meant in fun. If I wanted to get serious about it, I could very easily get very analytical. So take a pill.
