So I just got back from the Pitchfork Music Festival. AMAZING. Seriously, one of the best shows I've ever been too. Jarvis was the best performance I've ever seen. We got there around 1230 and just wandered taking in some of the newer, lesser known bands. Check out Caribou guys, he is awesome. It rained for like 2 straight hours, but thankfully it lowered the temp. It was as muddy as Glastonbury there, I loved it.
We caught up with some friends and checked out Fleet Foxes, who were very folky and chill and pretty good. Then we got right in front for Vampire Weekend. Vampire Weekend is even BETTER live than on CD and the CD is awesome. They got the crowd into it and danced and were very cute. I never realized how attractive they were. After VW we check out !!!. Guys, go listen to !!!. AMAZINGLY GOOD! Fun, fast dance punk. They put on a HELL of a show. Even the older people who were on blankets were up and dancing. They had so much engery it completely brought the crowd up to their level. After they finished, I swiftly and stealthily snuck up to front row for JARVIS! On the bar and everything. Dear god. We waited for Jarvis while we listened to the Hold Steady playing at the stage next door. So cool. And Jarvis' manager looks like a darker skinned/haired David Tennant. Eye Candy.
As for Jarvis...
When Jarvis came out, I screamed so loudly all the photographers turned around to get a shot of me. It was in heaven. He is taller and slimmer than I thought (didnt think it was possible) and acts the exact same way you see in interviews and in his videos. His suit was so stylish and amazing and he and his whole band were wearing different colored Chelsea boots. Genius. He started out with a new song i cannot remember the name of, but it ROCKED. Then he went into Caucasian Blues and Tonite. When Tonite started he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. I love nothing more than a good white boy arm. Hot hot hot.
Eventually he got around to playing Big Julie and I nearly died. He climbed up onto the speaker right infront of me (less than a foot) and got on his knees and started gyrating in front of me. Crotch like....ridic close to my face. hahah. He pointed RIGHT AT ME and made eye contact with me and sang a few lines of Big Julie. Then he came back later and did the same thing with Black Magic cause I stared wailing when it began playing because its another favorite of mine. He saw me yell and he came right by me! It was awesome. And he is 1000000 times sexier in real life than on tv/videos. His dancing...jesus the dancing. He was moonwalking and doing almost spilts and jumping in the air. At one point he ended up on the floor because he was just dancing himself down. It was crazy. Also his voice is perfect. Better than on CD in my opinion, and he is really funny. He kept brining up little things about Chicago and making fun of the city. Hilarious. He played Cunts are Still Running the World last and the crowd went CRAZY. Everybody was singing along. It was amazing. He was such a powerful force onstage. It took all my power not to jump him. So sexy.
After the show he came out one last time and sang Sorted for E's and Wizz which was REALLY cool since not many people knew the words. He seemed to have a great time. He also sang A LOT of new stuff and it was all great. His next CD is really going to be one to get. He premiered his new song "Girls Like It Too," as well. Its about...exactly what you're thinking. Guys are selfish when it comes to sex so they should remember girls like it too. I recorded it, so ill post it when i get back Sunday night! Killer tune.
Now this is the best part. Remember how I said Jarvis had all the facts about Chicago? They were all HANDWRITTEN out by Jarvis on a big piece of paper taped to the floor. and GUESS WHO HAS THE PAPER WITH HER NOW?!
ME BITCHES!!!!! The roadie saw me waiting after the show was over and brought it to me. I asked him and he said Jarvis had written it all out himself. Amazing. I have something Jarvis Cocker wrote in Sharpie and it is really funny. Life is so nice today.
Here is a picture of the Jarvis writing, a bunch of bands we saw, and plenttttty of HOT JARViS PICTURES!
