So, I've been doing more research on the movie - One For The Money, Reese Witherspoon is directing it or something, along with playing Stephanie - I so don't think she will be good for the role. And, there has been a TV movie for it already, but I can't find anything else about it, so if anyone knows what station it was on or a way to get a hold of it please let me know!!

Oh, and Jon Lovitz for Vinnie & Terry Crews *White Chicks & Friday* for Benito or Tank!

x-posted to Plumfans

I laughed pretty hard at this book. I thought the idea of taxidermic bombs was ridiculous but how could you not laugh at people getting beavered and woodchucked? Even Ranger finally laughed out loud at Steph's car getting squirel bombed.

Did anyone else think that the old man waiting for the cable company was going to be involved in the other plot line?

I won't talk much about the relationships because someone else posted on the Ranger/Steph/Morelli triangle but do you think that Morielli knows the extent of Stephanie's feelings for Ranger? Sure, she lusts after him a lot, but she also loves him right? Also, have we ever heard Tank say anything to Lula? I haven't read the older books in a while, so I imagine there are a few lines back there somewhere but I can't remember.

Sorry for the long post.

My Thoughts

For the first time since about book eight I wasn't completley disapointed by this novel. I think thought this was inevitable after reading 11 and 13 and Plum Lovin'. I just felt Janet Evanovich attempted to correct some of the diversions she had previously gotten sidetracked with.

This book also had me laughing which i haven't done for a while. I thought the narrative was a lot tighter again. And it wasn't so far fetched as some of the other novels. I think the inclusion of Dickie was interesting. But also I don't think she exploited it to it's full potential.

This novel seemed to be really rushed in terms of the overeaching arch. Most of the novel concentarted on Morelli and Ranger. I can't speak for anyone else but I am incredibly tired of it. I am a Morelli girl. I guess this stems from the fact the first novel of the series I read was Four to Score and my loyalties are set in concrete. But I am tired. I want resolution. I think the lack of major character development on Stephanie's part stems from Evanovich's decision to continue on the charade between Morelli and Ranger.

Quite frankly I want her to make a decision. I need Stephanie to choose on of them. I am hoping it will be Morelli but I just want a decision. At the conclusion of the book she waited for Morelli so they could go "home" together. Now, I do believe I am reading to much into it, but Stephanie concedes that Morelli's house is also her home. I am just frustrated. And it pains me every moment Ranger has with Stephanie.

Feel free to disagree with me.

I went Tuesday night and was not disappointed.

I really liked it. The only complaint I have is that the climax came and went really fast in this book.

What was everyone's favorite points? I loved the dinner with Joyce, but Lula yelling at Ranger may just be one of the best things ever. XD

I was reading the Q&A over on evanovich.com and one writer wrote in saying that she started a petition for Stephanie to get together with Dillion the super.
my thoughts on 12

I just got the book for my birthday last night and I've already read it and then skimmed through again twice. I love this book. It's probably one of my favorites in the series.

I especially loved Lula and Tank! Tank isn't around much but I always enjoy the scenes he's in. I like all the Merry Men scenes, just because they're completely flustered by Stephanie most of the time.

When Ranger got shot at the end, I was afraid he was dead and that's how Stephanie finally decided between him and Joe. Like someone said in a comment earlier, I really don't see any other way of her choosing between them.

I liked learning more about Ranger in this book and seeing his daughter. I kind of wished Julie had been in more scenes since she seemed like a spunky little kid.

I need the next book already!
One for the Money on TV?

I was looking on IMDb and came across this: http://imdb.com/title/tt0777262/. It says that One for the Money was a TV movie in 2002. Anyone ever heard of this or even seen it?

First, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Amanda, and I've been a fan of the series for years. I just haven't been all that active in corresponding with other fans. I'm a total Babe. I drool over Ranger daily.

Anyway, the original intent of my post was to ask a question. There aren't enough Stephanie Plum fansites out there, and I was wondering if any of you would like to see, or would get anything out of a comprehensive fansite. I was going to go back and reread all the books while taking notes. I wanted to have sections for each of the characters that include a bio, misc facts, and memorable quotes. I also wanted a section for each book that has a summary, a run-down of all important events that happen in the book, a list of characters that appear only in that book, and quotes. Plus, I've got plans for other sections that have graphics (avatars, wallpaper, banners), links, and misc fun stuff (quizzes, etc). Maybe even a section that has a fiction archive where authors can upload their own stories. Does anyone know of a website like this? I read so much fiction, that I sometimes get my fanon mixed up with my canon, and I wanted to start this project as a way to help myself out.

just a question... do the characters age in this series? i mean, time does progress (e.g. with valerie and her kids), but do we see the main characters have birthdays? or clearly defined years? is it a year a book? in the first book, stephanie is 30... how old is she in 12?

So I'm part Italian, but I don't live ANYWHERE near Jersey or New York. So ethnically, sure, but I just always assumed it's simply a place of descent, nothing more.

So remember when Connie was picking at her clumped mascara, and was like "it's f****** hard to be classy."? Yeah, I saw and heard almost the EXACT SAME THING just a few days ago within my own little clan. Frightening.

Twelve Sharp is finally out in Australia. I must say that the Stephanie Plum series keeps getting better and better.

One word: RANGER!!!

I love it how we hear about Ranger's background. I'm shocked that he never picked up on being followed by the 'Un-Ranger'. The Un-Ranger seems smart enough to have evaded Ranger's detection but when he kidnaps Stephanie he seems flustered and quick to make stupid decisions.

Favourite parts:
+ Ranger and Morelli both moving in with Stephanie.
+ Grandma Mazur in leather shorts and cone bra.
+ Lula and Tank forever.

"There was a rash of sightings in South Beach yesterday but it turned out to be Ricky Martin."
Ranger looks like Ricky Martin (but younger of course)? Yum!
Twelve Sharp

Okay let me just start off by saying that I am a Ranger fan. Sure there are times when I find Morelli totally charming, but all in all I vote for Babe over Cupcake.

That said I loved this last book. Evanovich's writing style has evolved ten fold since "One for the Money" and the character themselves have evolved greatly. I feel as if she is totally moving forward with the story line. That illicits fear and anticipation. Fear because I think she is nearing the end of the series and I love these characters so much, but also I want to know the happy ever after (and secretly I want it to be Ranger).

So let's get to brass tacks here or as Lula says "let's get down to buisness!" I will put the rest of this entry under the cut because it will contain spoilers.
I found so many indications of things to come in this book that just connected suspicions I have been harboring for a while now. For example... I think Ranger owns Stephanies apartment building. Mainly because he can let himself in and out of her apartment so quickly. It just makes me think he has a key.

Second thought is have you noticed how Ranger's love no longer comes with conditions. He simply loves her. He doesn't add in his own way. Stephanie on the other hand I think just realizes that either Morelli or Ranger could die in front of her and realizes that she loves one more than the other at the end of this book. I hope if Ranger.

I find Ranger the perfect match for Stephanie because she feels secure with him. Think about it... when she has some crazy chasing after she doesn't feel secure enough to stay by herself, or with her parents, or even with Morelli. Instead she stays with Ranger. Likewise Ranger come to her when he has a problem. I think that is the most imporant. To tell you the truth I think Ranger needs her more than Morelli. He even admits in this book to the fact that he alows emotions to creep in when it comes to anything concerning her. That doesn't even happen with his daughter. I think he ws in that state of worry not because of Julie (although I'm sure that was a part of it), but because he thought his babe was in danger.

I'm sure I will have more to add to this later, but this is just a starter.
