Colon: Semi Colon’s Straight-laced Brother
"Colon has lips that press together so tightly that sometimes he catches himself holding his breath. When he fills his lungs with large, lonely gasps, tears seep from Colon’s eyes, dotting his pages with lists of things that would make him happy. Colon weeps: “Things to do: Remember to breathe, learn to smile, speak in exclamations and expletives, fall in love.”

Time passes for Colon, slowly, because he has many lists and sleeps poorly. His dreams are typed on keyboards, rhythmic heartbeats, and his lists are scratched deeply into his heart. One day, finally, climactically, and gloriously, Colon crosses an item off his list: Colon falls in love.

Her name is Parenthese and she is beautiful and sweet and kind. Parenthese sees Colon first (he doesn’t see her, yet). She likes him right away (but isn’t sure why). When Colon finally notices Parenthese, he’s not sure whether she’s looking at him or the small painting of a dog over his head (he is very dense and Parenthese finds it endearing).

Colon and Parenthese fall in love as soon as Colon realizes that Parenthese is looking at him and not the painting. Together, they spend the day crumbling bread for the ducks in the park and eating fettuccini alfredo cross-legged in Parenthese’s apartment. Over time, Parenthese teaches Colon to relax a little and Colon teaches Parenthese to be a little more organized.

One night Colon and Parenthese have a fight. While they have loved each other for a long time, some issues have been simmering and have finally come to a boil. Colon yells at Parenthese to grow up and stand for something real. Parenthese cries and calls Colon a controlling bastard. Colon sleeps on the couch that night and Parenthese has to pee for nine hours straight because she doesn’t want to walk past Colon to get to the bathroom.

The next morning, Colon and Parenthese walk to the park and feed the ducks together. Each gets a little defensive — Colon scoffs and Parenthese rolls her eyes — but in the end they talk and learn that while they can’t always understand the other, they desperately want to help the other understand as best they can. Parenthese presses Colon’s hand to her lips and thanks him for keeping her grounded. Colon hugs Parenthese tightly and whispers into her hair, thanking her for reminding him of what’s important.

Colon and Parenthese both feel so complete in their love, so full of hope, they decide to have a child. Both agree it’s a little soon, a little unplanned, but Colon and Parenthese believe no child could enter a world filled with more love than the world they have in their hearts to offer.

Colon and Parenthese have a child who is everything they could ever want her to be. They name her… :)"

GOT CALOGERO'S LIVE CD IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY AND MOTHER DIDN'T TELL ME! I have been dancing around singing with him all morning. Guh. I love.

Work tonight. The schedule said, rather cryptically, "Megan -- Sunday -- 4 to 11. Project." -_- I am worried as to what EXACTLY the project it. If it is cleaning toilets again, I will be displeased.

Sunday already? :/
I watched Saw IV last night for the second time and it made SO much more sense the second time around. I actually understood the ending this time! I like it much better now. :P

I forgot to mention in my last entry how Mike and I went to see a couple of shows with Tali and [info]obskura on Wednesday night. They (The Cody Rivers Show and Blastback Baby Zap by Uncalled For) were the winners of the Fringe and therefore got a place in the Just For Laughs (though at Mainline, and not at any of the REAL Just For Laughs venues.) I have no idea how they won, no idea whatsoever. All I can be sure is that someone is sucking someone's cock somewhere, otherwise there is no explanation for this horror. The "shows" (if you could call them that) were absolutely, utterly horrible to the point that I felt embarassed to be sitting there watching them. :/ I'm angry and disappointed about the time and money that was utterly wasted, but if I hadn't gone to see those shows then I wouldn't have gone to dine at the amazing SANTROPOL beforehand and had the wonderful walk there through the beautiful McGill Ghetto and that side of the mountain. I also wouldn't have had so much fun wandering through some amazingly fun stores in the Plateau with Tali and Mike and I wouldn't have gotten to spend time with [info]obskura so the night was a success for those reasons alone. ;)
I can't believe I go to Santropol like, once a year now. I REALLY have to try and go more often. Like, once a month. It really is the most amazing place.

Also, why/how is it Sunday already?
:(

Stein-sama
Stein-sama 'Doctor Stein' or whatever (I believe his first name is Franken of course) is definately freakin' cool. Introduced in the Soul Eater series episode 5, preluded to in episode 4.

Seriously this guy kicks so much ass I don't even want to go into detail about it. Sufficed to say... well he's a doctor (/spoiler) which I love, and he wears the mad scientist lab coat... he's got glasses, used a computer, has the same kind of stooly computer chair I've used in the past...

I like the way he attacks, I like the way he blocks attacks, I like his special moves (sparky), and it's cool what he did to that one teacher...

Plus later on in the series when he teams up with another guy to face this one guy and then this lady... shiiiiit.

Seriously I want to emulate this guy as much as I want to emulate Spirit and Death. These are all seriously fucking cool emulatable role model hero type guys.

Anyway I need to go buy a video game or whatever my coffee will keep me awake. It's better having it earlier in the day, and to have it intermittantly so you're more aware. Yesterday I spilled everywhere because I was holding it one-handed constantly while relaxing watching a Tony Little vid and then I had a lot to clean up. It was a good excuse to switch to a new towel I think.

I fucking hate how some places ban you just because you pwn their members at debate and aren't a suckup, bunch of fucking wusses who can't take people with faster-operating brains. I guess it's incomprehensible that some of us just naturally fucking make great points faster than they're able to comprehend said points.

It's Mah Birthday~~! (MAHBOI)
It's my birthday today and I'm having fun with my friends! They came over yesterday, it was such a surprise! I thought nobody wanted to hang out with me XD; I had no idea Loppi and SoyaMILKU were going to be here either! What a lovely surprise.

Celebrated with a cake Rik and Marbles ordered for me custom-made with Lilith on it! XD (Will post photos later)

Got some wonderful presents, watched YouTube Poops, watched a Spanish horror film called REC, played lots of Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Dr Mario (which everyone hates, except me XDDD)

Gonna enjoy the rest of the day, see you all later~ ^^

(I hope you made lots of spaghetti~! You won't find Adobe in Nairobi!)

Jeanne D’Arc. $8 on Clearance at Target.

X-Posted from GameLuv.com Comment here or there and note that not all of these are my posts.

Another great find at an out-of-town Target. Auritech had me ready to pay full price for this one but thanks to R-Type Command filling my UMD slot for months I didn’t commit, and now it’s paid off! Excellent. Once I wrap up R-Type (another 2, 3 weeks maybe) I’m going to jump right into Jeanne D’Arc!

Interesting
I saw this in a magazine many weeks ago, and thought it was pretty interesting (:

Problem?

This is a design to let people view handicaps in a different way, meaning, those wheelchair bounded can still do what normal people can do, and they shouldn't be looked down upon.

El mundo soooooooooy ♪
Ahhh, Telefutura is playing Sesame Street (Plazo Sésamo) and I just saw a commercial for Captain Planet. I don't recognize any of the Sesame Street characters though... I see it's a completely separate production, but you'd think they would keep the same characters. There's a Big Bird character but he looks almost like a parrot, all super colorful.

Yay Spanish children's programs! :D

I definitely woke up in the middle of the night and thought, "Oh my God. Avatar is over." It was sad. :*(

Today's objective: Try to finish Twilight.

[memes] i've always been a failure at picking songs for people, sosry.
Okay, so no, I wasn't tagged by anyone. But I'm a meme whore and I was bored early this morning waiting for everyone else to get ready (because we went to my mother's hometown as it's my grandma's birthday).

01. How many people do you know in person from your friends list?
► Around 63 to 65; I'm not sure if some of them should count or not.

我 回来 了! :D :D :D After speaking more Chinese this week than I have in my JC years combined, I can happily say my standard of Chinese has gone up... a little. :D And I acquired a bit of a China accent speaking to the medical students from Shanghai and in my interactions with the locals (though many of them speak Chinese with a completely different pinyin). It'll probably die off in a few days.

What to say? Well, my life has really, really been changed by this experience. Without killing the child's heart in me, it has also wised me up and shaken me away from the superficial things in my life. I really want to delete a lot of comms now, looking through my f-list at many things that no longer interest me and that don't matter anymore. Oh, and I've discovered that I can survive all by myself in a hotel room at night.

A HUUUUUUGE entry will follow, but I'll spare you the gory pictures of the surgeries. YES THERE ARE PEEK-CHARS!

I guess all I can say now is... THANK YOU, LORD. Thank You so, so much. ♥ For challenging me and changing attitudes in my heart, for being the only one I could turn to when everything and everyone else had failed, for loving me despite all my flaws, for showing me the world out there that needs Your love. And for completely turning my life around.

God is good, all the time.
Hello my friends!

LOOK CAREFULLY AND YOU WILL SEE "Evelyn Keyes" HAHAHAH! I know it ain't "Keys" - but still! Woah! Bra! You and I are fated! :D I had a dream that I saw bra's whole db team at the stop before the parkway stop. They were all sitting down on the floor stretching (why on earth they were stretching THERE was questionable, but yeah, they were) so anyway, I alighted the bus (cause duh - I wanted to talk to bra) and she was so happy to see me HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Of course, I know that it would have been true :) HEEHEE.

Anyway, I read this interesting comment from the TIME magazine:

"The sham of an election brings into question the integrity of all nations that champion democracy and freedom. If Zimbabwe had colossal oil reserves, would we see this sort of timidity from the country's neighbours and the Western powers? Why do we let corruption and death run rampant in countries like Rwanda and Zimbabwe when billions of dollars and thousands of lives are in Iraq? The so-called overseers of human rights - from the US to the UN - have little more legitimacy than callous dictators like Mugabe. - Daniel Kowbell, TORONTO"

There's a reason why, I, like so many others, do not like America.

Okay. This post is super random :)

There's a reason why I smile :)

OMG HISTORY MOVIE ALERT OF AWESOME!

Later this summer filming will start in Morocco on a version of the emperor's story by British director John Boorman. Based on Marguérite Yourcenar's 1951 novel, Memoirs of Hadrian, Boorman's film casts Antonio Banderas in the lead role and Charlie Hunnam as Antinous, the Greek boy who became his lover and then drowned mysteriously in the Nile.
There is more here for the curious.

Firstly, this novel is excellent. Secondly, Charlie Hunnam is hot. Thirdly, WHAT ANTONIO BANDERAS YOU SLAY ME!!! Lastly, I want this movie NAOW please, because it's either going to be HILARIOUSLY awful or make me cry tears of joy. There is probably no middle ground for a movie about Hadrian.... at least as far as I am concerned.
