I refuse to support Olympia's Lakefair!
Some very close friends of mine are unable to perform at the 2008 Olympia Lakefair due to a bullshit reason.

Just because a couple members of the group have had issues with the law in their PAST, Lakefair is refusing to allow them to perform. None of these issues have anything to do with Lakefair, Olympia, or Thurston county in any way, nor do they involve anything serious.

Someone who is not affiliated with the group, but has issues with the group sent a letter informing the committee that a couple of the members of the group have had issues with the law. Rather than speak with the members of the group about the situation, the Lakefair committee chose to just ban the group from performing at Lakefair indefinitely.

The group in question will not be named, but the members are all good people, who like to perform for the public. They are fairly new to the circuit, but they have done some shows for donations, with all proceeds going to nonprofit groups.

Those who have had problems in their past are trying very hard to improve their lives and prove to the public that they have changed their ways and really are good, hard-working people!

In my opinion, there is no reason why the group should not be given a chance to perform.

So since Lakefair has insisted they are not allowed to perform, I refuse to support Lakefair and will continue to refuse to support Lakefair until their bigotry has been quashed.
