| About: | Hello! There has been a little bit of confusion about exactly what we're 'all about' here in this community. To be fair, Noele and I have not been very clear about our intentions. Existing members probably already get the idea, but here are some things to consider if you are interested in joining this community: 1. We do not have open membership. If you would like to join our community, please have images in your journal for us to look at. Kind of a no-brainer! But if I click on someone's journal to check it out and I see some big cheesy "friends only!" graphic, I just automatically deny membership. 2. There is a theme to this community. Duh! It's "Olfactory Memory." You know that fleeting sense of gut-wrenching contentment you feel when you smell something that reminds you of _____? That is the sense we attempt to replicate in photographs here. It is pretty simple. 3. This is a photography community, or really almost like a small collective. Membership is small, most of us know each other, and we are pretty like-minded with our aesthetic. That means post only photographs - accompanying text is not necessary or wanted. 4. This isn't heavily enforced, but we prefer to not see cross-posting of images. Why? I can't come up with a good reason right now. Just because, okay? 5. I hate writing out rules and shit like that! It makes me feel like a douchebag. The point of this community is not to exclude people or be jerks or be hoity toity photography nerds.
