| About: | Old Time Radio
Often abbreviated as "OTR", the term old time radio refers to the classic comedy, drama, horror, and musical variety programs broadcast during radio's golden age, approximately 1920-1960. The Shadow, Suspense, Inner Sanctum, and The Great Gildersleeve are just a few of the most popular shows.
This is a community for everyone who loves the shows and personalities of old time radio, collects OTR CDs/tapes/mp3s, listens online, re-enacts the stories, or is just plain curious about the "forgotten medium" of radio.
The community also welcomes fans of present-day radio drama and comedy in North America and the UK, as well as those who are actively involved in writing, producing, and performing radio plays today.
Some things to post about: your favorite shows, favorite places to hear old time radio and find OTR recordings, questions about the stars of radio, info about OTR conventions, recommended OTR reference books and websites, photos of OTR celebrities (please put large and multiple images behind lj-cuts).
Feel free to use this community to meet fellow OTR fans, trade recordings of classic shows, discuss brand new 21st century audio drama programs on radio and the internet, or promote your own radio theatre group to other fans.
