ebonytigress @ 03:26 pm: BATMAN :D :D :D
Okay, We saw The Dark Knight yesterday with Sean, Brett, Sherrya, Amber, Prime, Jezza, Kodi and Jared.

It was Incredible!! We sat at the very front though :(, surprisingly we STILL LOVED IT even craning our necks up at the screen and trying to follow along.

Chris and I will be seeing it again sometime this week :3 What an AWESOME movie.

Go see it! I know I will try and see it as much as I can afford to XD, Even though the movie was long it didn't -feel- like it was, and it probably could have gone on even longer without complaint from me for sure.

Heath Ledger did an incredible job as The Joker. R.I.P.

bucktowntiger @ 11:52 am: transact (v.)
–verb (used with object)
1. to carry on or conduct (business, negotiations, activities, etc.) to a conclusion or settlement.
–verb (used without object)
2. to carry on or conduct business, negotiations, etc.: He was ordered to transact only with the highest authorities.

As such, a transaction is a conductance of business, or negotiations. Implying that there are two sides to such a transaction.

The transactions that occurred in west Africa in the 1500's-1800's were such transactions. Occurrences of business negotiations... )

So, in conclusion, we must strive for our own interdependence through independence to attain our true freedoms that we deserve. Cultivate your mind, your inner talents and abilities, so that you can control the transactions to your benefit. Strive for a society in which all of our combined talents can be used for our greater good to further all of us, as opposed to those in power being advanced while we get poorer and poorer as our fiat currency is degraded and we become subservient to things which we cannot control. Mindless drones are mindless and, moreover, they are dispensible. And those in power--those that are truly free--know that, and they will continue to take advantage of us as long as we let them.

ebonytigress @ 10:58 am: MFM is a GO.
Okay My friend [info]bluewolfy4/BlueOtter has opened the way for my husband and I to go to MFM!

So I will be there (I will be Pre-reging in the next few days), but I'm having a hard time convincing my husband that it will be a good experience.

Okay, I think a con experience is everything you make it to be, so I really hope that if he -does- come with me that he will open up and have a good time.

The problem that he sees is that he isn't an artist or writer, and really isn't -that- interested in the art, and the only reason why he socializes anywhere is because I am there. He doesn't want to come to the con and be alone/bored. Also he doesn't want to sit with me in the Artist' Alley for the duration of me being there.

I will be in the Alley or Den (if I can get in that) trying to make monies for our move to Hawaii, so he doesn't honestly want to keep me from working, which I understand.

What is there to do for someone who isn't drawing? I really don't have good experience with what goes on outside of the Artist' Alley/Dealer's Den...unfortunately.

I really hope he will come with me and make a friend at least for the convention so he'll have a good time :\

Anyone have any information on Machomonito? (SP)    This is  a Monster?   An angry spirit of the Atlantic North West it seems from what little
I have gathered about it.

So far the internet has provided nothing.

I am a tiger, and I have not knowingly purchased Exxon gasoline since I found out about them. About four years or so... Having backwards policies is one thing. Buying another company and stripping away rights and benefits their employees once had is Not Cool.

As a tiger, I feel that Exxon is a disgrace to my species, and not just for the linked-to issue. And yes, I know they've donated over $13 million since 1992 to help save the tiger in the wild, but let's get real. They make $13 million profit in less time than it takes you to watch The Dark Knight. Their millions to save tigers pales to the billions of dollars in ecological destruction elsewhere that they've avoided and stalled cleaning up for years, including Valdez, as well as their position as a lead inhibitor to clean energy alternatives (because of their oil stronghold, of course). Speaking of oil, ExxonMobil is the Snopes-certified second-largest importer of Middle Eastern oil, meaning that ExxonMobil is indirectly empowering some of America's biggest enemies in the War on Terror and otherwise.

So, to Exxon: quit using my beloved tiger to Greenwash us all. Use foxes. Or huskies. Or dragons. Or skunks (which a friend said the other day are the real "new huskies.") ;) just kidding everyone

I applaud McDonald's standing up in the face of bigotry for what they see as fair and just, for not backing down in the face of a boycott to support equal rights for all.

However, I still plan on boycotting McDonald's through the Beijing Olympics. Is this fair?

Okay, so my cell phone myseriously rings with an unidentified number. I answer it, but I'm greeted with a disconnect or perhaps the caller hung up. So I look up the 202 area code to find out that its from the D.C. area. I thought it was a friend, but they have different area codes. Very strange indeed since I'm still planning a trip out that way next month.

...goes to Daniel Allan Everett who was charged with child sexual abuse and using the Internet to attempt sexual abuse after he arrived at a meeting with a 14-year-old girl from online that he intended to have sex with. Everett showed up to the meeting wearing a shirt that said "World's Greatest Dad."

So in recent Widespread Panic news:

June 26, 08 -- MAYOR JOHN HICKENLOOPER PROCLAIMS "WIDESPREAD PANIC DAY" IN DENVER

"At the end of Widespread Panic's sold-out run this weekend, the band will have played 32 Sold Out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre - more than any other band in the venue's history. Red Rocks officials will honor the band with a special award presentation, and a mayoral proclamation calling Friday, June 27 "Widespread Panic Day" in the City and County of Denver."

July 11, 08 -- WIDESPREAD PANIC TO BE INDUCTED TO THE GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME

"
Widespread Panic will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame at the 30th Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show on Saturday, September 20th in Atlanta, GA. The show will broadcast live on Georgia Public Broadcasting and will include a special performance from the band.

Past inductees include Georgia musicians including Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, R.E.M., and the Allman Brothers Band as well as industry professionals such as music attorney Joel Katz and record label owner Antonio “L.A.” Reid.

"Sharing this honor... with so many of our greatest musical influences, is something I'm sure none of the Band members imagined when we first started making music together. September 20th is going to be a truly special day for the entire Widespread Panic Family," says John Bell, vocalist and founding member of Widespread Panic."

Latly, more tickets have been released for the three-night stand at Myrtle Beach's House of Blues.  I honestlt wish I could go to this show, but its not in my planning and budget for this year. :(
Eight years ago I once had tickets to all three nights, but had to sell them because I was already stretched to thin with the 20 other Panic gigs I had tickets for that year. One day I will make it to South Carolina to see the next 3-nite stand they play at the HoB there.
