A place where fanfic writers of Tin Man can hang out. Grab a virtual cup of coffee (or a latte, or a macchiato for those hard-core types), grab a table (seat yourself policy), whip out your laptop, and get those creative muses bowing to your whims!

What to post...

Since this is a place for writers to converse with other writers, writing is required. You should probably be a writer of Tin Man fanfic or original fiction to join this group.

That being said, this is a hodge-podge community that will be for writers talking about their writing. This isn't necessarily a place to post your fanfic - that would be tinman_fic (fic posting is discussed below). This is the behind the scenes of fanfiction.

Acceptable posts may include:
- Chapters of that work-in-progress that is neither 'work' nor 'in progress', and decide you'd like some help finding its direction
- Open beta for a story - a story of any size - you want to release. We will critique and concrit.
- Those drabbles for tinman100 that you just couldn't squeeze to 100 words. (Unedited drabbles, let them have a voice!)
- Stuff that's on your writing brain, whatever it happens to be, Tin Man, Wizard of Oz related or what have you...
- Looking for someone to collaborate with on a fic
- "Yeah, er, what's that word again? Anyone know?"
- How you find inspiration
- How you keep inspired
- How you balance writing fanfic with school, work, life, et cetera... (or don't balance it at all)
- "I can't write this story/plotbunny anymore... Anyone else want it? Fantastico! It's yours!"


Additionally, I'm thinking this might be a good place for some fanfic postings, but they will have restrictions, and must be one or more of the following:

- A collaborative piece between you, your friend, or however many others...
- Stories that are long by fanfic standards: exceeding 25,000 words
- Long, but abandoned! Post it here, and maybe you'll get motivated to finish it! (Wouldn't that be nice!)
- Parts of an abandoned fic that you want to share, that might stand alone as little stories.

Writers of abandoned fics, velkommen! You wrote that whole thing, right? It's a shame to keep it to yourself, after you put that much thought and effort into it.

Settling the bill...

- Introduce yourself. Tell us about you, what you're working on... Greatest way to break the ice. We're all just as crazy and obsessed as you. We just have coffee and they don't.

- Be kind ... or, better yet, just be yourself. Not everyone has the same level of kindness.

- If you post a fic for Open Beta, please point out what you're looking for in a review. Some of us can get pretty deep in the critique department. (Do you really need to know the difference between 'who' and 'whom' right now, or can that wait?) Say whether you want your critique in a Small, Medium, or Large to-go cup!

- Beta readers, sometimes coffee is best served with a slice of pie, so try to say something good with the bad.

- No trolling, no flaming, no smoking, no loitering, no soliciting. Clear?

- Have fun! The most important rule of all... If you're not enjoying this experience, tell us why.
