If you want to join, please read the guidelines, fill out the application, and post your pictures. Accepted members/mods will vote with either a yes, no, or maybe to your application. If you get enough approvals (the mods will decide how many approvals are necessary), you'll become a stamped member which allows you to vote on other people's applications and post your latest work for others to give their opinions on. You will also be helping out fellow and potential members with the critiques and comments you make.

Recently the community has obtained new moderation. We are working on bringing this community up to date and reorganizing the rules and way things are run. We apologize for the rushed or unclear changes that have been made thus far and are working on making everything as clear and cohesive as possible.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES- Posting entries to this community is only allowed by those who are posting an application and by those members who have already been stamped.
- Along with that voting on applications is strictly for stamped members of the community. Please, do not vote on applications if you are not a stamped member.
- Commenting by non-members is allowed but please keep it constructive.
- Do not post surveys, quizzes, or any other regular posts. This is a photography community; keep those sorts of posts for your own journal.
- LJ-Cuts are praised upon.
- One teaser image or one image above the cut that is no wider than 700px is fine. Please put the rest behind a cut.
- Do not post photographs that do not belong to you -- i.e. no stolen photographs. This community is aimed towards sharing your OWN photography not someone else's work.
- Pictures of you and your friends hanging out is not considered by most to be photography, so please consider the content you're posting before submitting.
- Nudity is fine as long as it is behind an lj cut and is warned for as there are young members in the community.
- Please do not disable comments in your post. Doing so defeats the purpose of the community - sharing feedback, knowledge, helping others to learn.
- Exception is disabling comments with a fake lj-cut. While we'd appreciate you making your post directly to the community, it's understood why you choose to do so.
- Be constructive!
- If you can't handle constructive criticism or learn to handle it for what it is, then you really should reconsider applying.
- Not everyone who applies is going to post amazing work, so give constructive criticism wherever possible.
- Do not take comments to a personal level, whether you are giving comments or receiving them.
- Things like "this sucks" or "you're really bad" are highly unacceptable. Saying "this isn't all that good but if you ____" is a more proper way of saying you don't like it while explaining why you don't in a non-rude or personal way.
- If someone takes your comments to a personal level, don't continue responding! Responding only adds more flames to the fire.
- In other words, don't be rude - keep rude, snide, sarcastic comments to yourself. If things escalate to that level, report the thread / post to a mod and things will be taken care of from there.
