britney's thoughts on Antigone ....
Christies is auctioning off a page of Britney Spears highschool homework :(

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The page is taken from Britney Spears' junior high school notebook containing her handwritten review of Rex Warner's translation of Sophocles' story Antigone, written in black ballpoint pen on either side of the page, Britney's review annotated by her teacher with corrections to her spelling and comments including ...Nice cover Organized Watch your spelling... and Write more neatly and her grade: 88; and a corresponding piece of yellow card decorated with the book's title Antigone in black felt pen -- 12x9in. (30.5x20.8cm.)

i like the thesis sentence...even if i can't make out her horrible handwriting.

I like how the teacher didn't correct "loose" in her first sentence: "Antigone is about a girl who looses her brother during a war."

Disturbing.

I personally think Brit is borderline retarded and Sean Preston probably has a higher IQ, but come one, it's Junior High School ffs. I would cringe to read some shit I wrote when I was 11.

How far did she make it in school? Like sophomore year before she was "home schooled"?

Antigone!! I dug Antigone, if only for her name, though it's so much more interesting spoken than read. There's your deep thought for the day to staple onto this winning paper.

And thank God this was a junior high assignment. I thought it was high school at first (as that's when I went over Antigone) and things were looking really grim.

wow, just wow.

I know she's fairly young, but still. Isn't rumor one of those sight words everyone learns by that age? And how come she is dotting some mystery letter after the 'g' in Antigone? Was she spelling it Antigione?

Although, truth be told, there was a guy in my sophomore (honors) english class who did an oral presentation of Antigone and pronounced the name Anty-gon the entire time.
