Ausiello exclusive: Numb3rs fans can count on closure

CBS’ decision cut Numb3rs‘ episode count from 22 to 16 is the clearest sign yet that the CBS procedural’s current sixth season will likely be its last. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the network gave producers enough notice to plan for a possible series finale.

“We will be doing a 16th episode that wraps up storylines and answers questions,” reveals the show’s co-creator Cheryl Heuton. “It will be designed to stand as a finale, but it won’t create story situations that would hamper us if the network should decide to order more episodes.”

Heuton says she’s confident the episode “will give fans what they’ve been waiting for… We’re looking to feature all our characters and give good moments to every member of the cast.”

Bottom line: We won’t have another Las Vegas-type debacle on our hands.

Charlie and Amita wedding finale please! Also, I think it's time for the series to end although I think it's pretty bitchy to cut an order that was already made.

I agree with you! Definitely want the Charlie/Amita wedding.

And if this is the final season, they shouldn't have cut the episodes. We deserve the full season!

I've never been a fan of any of the women Don dated, so I'm wondering how they'll end that storyline. Also I really hated Megan until they brought on Nikki... her I can't stand.

Even though this is my favorite show, I could see why it's time for it to end.

Yes, Megan back! I want her and Larry to ride off into the sunset together. (Keep in mind, I haven't seen the show since season 4 so I don't even know why her character left)

Diane Farr got pregnant with twins (and she already had a baby at home), so the character went off for more schooling in psychology, I think.

Ah, okay, thanks. I knew why the actress left, just not the character. I was really disappointed when I heard she was gone.

They couldn't afford to pay for the actor who played Larry this season, so he left for other places. Ausiello said he will be back before the end of the show, though.

Was their relationship ever talked about after she left? Like, was there any sort of resolution to that? Last time I watched, they were still together.

I just started watching a few episodes before the "finale" and was so angry at the Las Vegas thing.

I hope Charlie gets married too!

I've also been hoping for an Eppes baby this entire season, so if Robin or Amita ends up pregnant in the series finale, I'll be happy.
