Joss Whedon Is 'Really Excited' To Direct 'Glee' Episode, etc.


Greetings Gleeks and members of the Whedonverse! We're betting that since the news broke that Joss Whedon would be heading over to McKinley High School to direct an episode of "Glee," you haven't been able to contain your sci-fi/musical excitement.

Apparently, neither has the man himself. "I talked to him a bunch [at a party], he's really excited," noted Cory Monteith (who plays heartthrob Finn) during a "Glee" club fieldtrip to the MTV offices. "He's a big fan of the show — and [we spoke] before it actually came out that he was going to direct. He spoke to us, the cast, for an hour at this party."

Though neither Cory nor Lea Michele knew (or, at least, would spill) what episode Joss would be putting his magical touch on, they did say they're anxious to get the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Dollhouse" creator on set. "It's good to have a talented fan directing the show," Cory added.

Who wouldn't want to hang out with such a fun group anyway? As you can see from the photo below, MTV News' Jim Cantiello loved every minute of his encounter with a few of McKinley's best voices.

For weeks, rumors have been circulating that "American Idol" fave Adam Lambert was in talks to appear on an upcoming episode of "Glee," a pop-culture match seemingly made in glammy, gold lamé heaven.

The whole thing appeared to be legit — especially since it was "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy who was talking about Lambert's cameo in the first place — but somewhere along the way, negotiations must have hit a snag. Lambert shot down the rumors during an appearance last week on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, saying he hadn't "heard anything officially" from the show.

And with those words, the dreams of millions of Glamberts (and Gleeks) were shattered.

But fear not, because on Thursday, when the cast of "Glee" stopped by the MTV Newsroom to discuss their new album Glee: The Music, Volume 1, we had to ask them about the prospects of Lambert joining the ranks of Josh Groban and Kristin Chenoweth as a guest star on the show. And, as it turns out, things aren't quite as dead as you'd imagine.

In particular, actress Lea Michele — who plays the scene-stealing Rachel Berry on "Glee" — seemed determine to work with Lambert, no mater what it took to make it happen.

"I love Adam Lambert! I want to sing with him so badly," she said. "If they don't let me [sing with him] on the show, I would just in life. I just want to sing with him so badly. He's just such an incredible vocal performer, and I'm such a huge fan.

"I feel like I'd be getting to work out at the gym with the best trainer in the world," she continued. "You want to work out with someone who's ripped and is going to train you well. That's what I think about when I think of Adam Lambert. I just think he's awesome."

See, she used a personal-trainer metaphor — things must be serious indeed.
