Kate Beckinsale Talks to Moviefone About Daughter's Love for 'Twilight'

At the premiere of Kate Beckinsale's new movie "Everybody's Fine" she divulged to Moviefone her daughter's love for Twilight...

She has donned latex in the vampire-vs-werewolf 'Underworld' movies and played Hollywood icon Ava Gardner onscreen.

But Kate Beckinsale has nothing on 'Twilight' -- in her 10-year-old daughter Lily's eyes.

"My daughter is a 'Twilight' fan, and my daughter's dad is in the next 'Twilight' movie," Beckinsale told Moviefone at Tuesday's premiere of her film 'Everybody's Fine' in Hollywood at the AFI Film Festival. "It was the book. She refused to see the film for ages. She was a book purist. I think it's just incredibly romantic. It's in search of that sensitive teenage boy who doesn't exist."

Lily's dad, Welsh actor Michael Sheen, who is also Beckinsale's ex-partner, stars in 'New Moon,' the new 'Twilight' movie that comes out Nov. 20.

Meanwhile, Beckinsale has taken some time off around the house, and is trying something she hasn't done -- a professional writing project.

"I have been at home writing, something I have been promising I would do for a while," Beckinsale says. "I have been taking a little bit of time out."

Asked about details of the project she grinned and said, "You will see."

Beckinsale has also appeared this year in September's 'Whiteout,' one of the year's worst-reviewed movies, in which she played a U.S. deputy marshal, and in January's third installment of the sturdy 'Underworld' franchise.

She stars as Sam Rockwell's sister in November's 'Everybody's Fine.'

Asked about that movie's all-star cast, which also includes Robert DeNiro and Drew Barrymore, Beckinsale said, "Every actor in the world wants to work with Robert DeNiro because he is the best. Drew Barrymore and Sam Rockwell, I had known Sam before, I loved him and he was my favorite people I ever worked with. In fact, we got to play brother and sister, so he was very close. We all gelled very quickly. It was a lovely atmosphere immediately."

	Of all the movies released this year, WHITEOUT was the worst reviewed? I call bullshit! It wasn't amazing but at least it was decent and entertaining. There are 50 other films released this year that were worse. (Reply to this)

	I like Kate Beckinsale but I'm hoping that she's referring to the fact that her daughter refused to see the movies because she thought the movies would ruin the books as romantic. I'm not a Twilight fan at all either but in this case, I'm hoping that's what she means. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Friggn love her <3 I havent watched Twilight or read the books, but at some point people are just gonna accept that kids and teenage girls like this weird emo shit.
