**UPDATED** There he goes again....
HMD 2010 Short Film
27th January 2010 is the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the largest Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is also the tenth anniversary of the commemoration of HMD in the UK. The theme for HMD 2010 and the title of this short film is The Legacy of Hope.
The film introduces us to three survivors who have made their home in the UK. Each contributor shares with us a personal story of loss, survival, recovery and strength and Daniel Radcliffe sets each story in its historical context. The film ends with the three survivors asking viewers to carry their messages of hope into the future and encourage us all to become part of The Legacy of Hope and work together to build a fairer and more inclusive world.
The film focuses on survivors’ stories and is narrated by actor Daniel Radcliffe, a prominent supporter of HMD. Each of the Holocaust survivors featured – Ben Helfgott, Iby Knill and Lily Ebert – tell us about their experiences and share with us their Legacy of Hope
Daniel Radcliffe said, “"When I was approached to narrate this short film, The Legacy of Hope, I felt very privileged. I felt that in a very small way I was contributing to the remembrance of these tragic and horrendous events, whilst also commemorating all those people who refused to let the horrors they had lived through dictate the tone of the rest of their lives.
“The surest shield we have against future atrocities is our knowledge and our emotional understanding of what has happened in the past. The chance to help the vital work done by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust could not be turned down."

UPDATE : In a press release from the HMDT, Carly Whyborn, Chief Executive Officer, Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, said: “We are delighted that Daniel Radcliffe is once again lending his support to HMD. With this year's theme - The Legacy of Hope – it is entirely fitting that Daniel, who is so well known amongst younger audiences, has narrated our film, which will be shown at HMD events across the UK. Through the film, people will have the opportunity to listen to the memories of survivors like Ben, Lily and Iby and think about what action they can take after HMD which will have a positive impact on their community.”

I'm gonna get all sappy for a sec ....
First off, anything about the Holocaust makes me sob. I can't believe there are people in the world who don't believe this actually happened. It boggles my mind.
I wonder if anyone in his (Dan's) family suffered the Holocaust considering his mother is Jewish.
I've watched this kid grow up over the years and I'm tremendously proud to be a fan. He is mature and intelligent beyond his years. Passionate and compassionate...promoting tolerance, respect, kindness and acceptance. Your parents raised you well, Dan. Good on you for sticking to your roots, standing up for what you believe in and getting involved in projects/charities like this. I can't help but sit back and grin like a fool at what an admirable and amazing young man he turned out to be. He really puts his celebrity to good use (especially at such a young age)...
/proud mama gushing...ehhhh.....hmmm more like non-related person who feels oddly like a proud older 4th cousin by marriage twice removed....because I'd still give serious consideration of shagging him senseless if given the chance... ya know, without the whole incestuous thing...
Boy, I need to quit smoking weed at the wee hours of the morning/middle of the night...I think I'm still high
