Meet the Nancy Drew girls

The lazy days of summer always seem to have young girls reading through the adventures of Nancy, her best friends Bess and George, and her slightly wooden headed boy friend Ned Nickerson. Ready to leap into her blue roadster, enabled by gobs of cash from her lawyer father, and handy with a revolver, Nancy is a mystery solving whiz.
Add Judge Sotomayor's name to the Nancy Drew fan club. Her interest in the law was sparked as a young girl by reading the Nancy Drew series. Sandra Day O'Connor, Hilary Clinton, Mary Tyler Moore, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, as well as Barbara Walters and Fran Lebowitz cite her as an early primary influence on their lives.
The Nancy Drew series will be 80 years old next year.
HER games has released a free demo of the new Nancy Drew game Ransom of the Seven Ships:

I loved Nancy Drew. I always used to tease my cousin than she was smarter than the Hardy boys because she could solve all the mysteries by herself.

I haven't read too many Nancy Drew books, but a couple years ago I read a book about it's creation and "Carolyn Keene." It was pretty interesting.

Oh ffs "secret of the old clock" was my shiiit! that was the first one I ever read. My mom always loved Nancy Drew, and I remember my brothers would make fun of me cause I would read them being a boy they thought it was a girl only book/series. AND THEN I'd read the books and talk about them with mom and we'd get all into it and shit, and then they'd steal the books and read them rofl.

AND WTF that video game looks fun but hard, all those puzzles looked confusing as shit rofl.

I loved the Nancy Drew books. I used to have most of the series. No clue where they are now, but I loved them. Also, I loved - and I'll be surprised if anyone else knows these books - the Trixie Belden mystery books. :D

Awesome, awesome. Also, I remember as a kid running to the dictionary to see what color "titian" was.

Nancy Drew books were always so boring to me. I read everything when I was a kid (and got in trouble regularly for reading instead of paying attention in class), but Nancy Drew was never exciting.
Plus only the lame girls who read those books about teenage girls falling in love as they're dying of cancer/leukemia read Nancy Drew.

Also I'm really glad that they still print them. If you go through the young girl section of a bookstore these days, most everything being written is garbage, gossip girl clones with hot pink covers. It's nice that there's still someone intelligent for them to read about.

Part of me will always want to be Nancy Drew, ngl. And I remember being super pissed that the girl they got to play Nancy in one of the TV series had a short, dark bob haircut, instead of long red hair.

That's funny b/c I always thought Nancy Drew was sexist as a child.

Also I remember being like 7 and asking my mom why she and her boyfriend never kiss.

Figures. I always thought he was gay.

I just came in for the video game. I love the Nancy Drew video games! They are some of my favorite relaxing games because they aren't hard, but they have a great story and are a fun way to waste a few hours. I can't wait for the new one! Hopefully it will be better than the last few. I haven't really enjoyed one since pre-Kapu Cave.
