I loooove ballet. It was always my secret dream to be a ballerina. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and do it over again. My mom maintains she pulled me out of ballet and put me in tap because I was too spastic and generally terrible. I was four but I think my utter lack of talent was already apparent. :(

I love ballet too. There is no "utter lack of talent" at age four. Go back and take class, whether it's ballet or not, and enjoy and express yourself!

Letterman is glomming off SYTYCD though :(

But yay for one NYC institution finally recognizing another NYC institution. People like him should have been doing stuff like this all along, imo.

OMG I need to see an ABT show soon. I keep meaning to get tickets but haven't yet this season even though I love them so much.

Letterman bugs the crap out of me.

I have mad respect for ballet dancers. I know nothing about ballet except being on point and a little other stuff, but even just that, being on point, looks freakin hard.

I find it really quite pathetic that he and the audience were omg AMAZED at her just standing in pointe shoes. Really now? In any other developed country, the host and audience would just be like "And?" And to think that even that "awe" was more than likely feigned. It's really, really sad to me how under appreciated, even ignored, ballet is in this country. Such a beautiful art, that takes quite exquisite talent.

I get both excited and depressed whenever I hear about ballerinas in the media. For me, ballet was more miserable than it was fun but quitting was one of the biggest mistakes of life. Only thing I was ever really good at :(

Anyway, I think she's beautiful.

Ballet dancers are THE SHIT. They work their ass off and their physical fitness is top notch.

I appreciate and applaud them, 'cause I could never do that. My friends dances ballet and she workes really hard.

i wish i could dance ballet. when i was little i really wanted to, and we had set up an appointment at the studio. and then i was never able to go because my dad needed the car (we had two, and idky he would use a car and the driver -which at that time we only had one of). and then when my brother grew up they started driving him to basketball games and practices everywhere. :(
