A New Jason Statham Role? YES PLEASE
Jason Statham Hunts a Serial Killer in 'Blitz'

Jason Statham will play a homophobic sociopath...that you can root for! The star of the Crank movies is lining up Blitz, according to Crime Spree Cinema, an adaptation of the Ken Bruen novel of the same name.
Statham is headlining the cast as Brant, a cop on the trail of a serial killer targeting police officers in different precincts around London. Part of the tension comes from Brant's department being on the ropes for a variety of reasons and being flung into the heart of the serial killer case.
The title of the book and the film refers to the nickname given to the killer by the fully fanged London media. I suppose, in a way, this could be a little like that abomination of a crime movie/societal critique called 15 Minutes with Robert De Niro and Edward Burns, but let's hope it's only a little like it.
Author Ken Bruen is thrilled to have Statham on board, saying, "I think Jason Statham will really step up to the plate for Brant. He's been looking for a part to make his own and I think this is it."
Paddy Considine is also in talks to co-star, portraying Brant's openly gay partner, naturally. Otherwise, what's the point of having a homophobic cop?

Umm...YES YES YES. I love Jason and everything he does, so of course I will be there opening day. I also hope Gerard Butler is there because come on, I need more fodder for my fanfic. BRB, jumping up and down like a giddy schoolgirl.
