Musician Jack White has confessed he doesn't own a mobile phone and avoids using the internet.

Jack White hates technology.

The musician - who insists on doing all his recordings on analogue tape rather than digital - doesn't own a mobile phone and hates the internet but admits his attitude infuriates others.

He said: "I want to be part of the resurgence of things that are tangible, beautiful and soulful, rather than just give in to the digital age.

"But when I talk to people about that, they just go, 'Yeah I know what you mean' and stare at their mobiles. The general vibe I get is, 'Quit being a drag. We're progressing here.' "

Jack's anti-modernism is shared by his Dead Weather bandmates.

Singer Alison Mosshart said: "I've gone on lunches with people who haven't looked up from their iPhones. You feel like you're having lunch on your own."

Bassist Jack Lawrence added to Britain's Guardian newspaper: "It's only a matter of time before the world gets sick of reading some s**thead's comments on a message board."

	my dad is on the non-digital stereo bandwagon. he is trying to relive his youth as a hi-fi stereo salesman in 1970s detroit, and has switched all of the speakers in our house for vintage pieces he purchased/had refurbished on ebay. I mean, they're nice, but sometimes they crap out and then the sound is not bilateral and it is awkward. (Reply to this) (Thread)
