Lacuna Coil's Our Truth to be included in Guitar Hero:World Tour

"As in Rock Band 2,Lacuna Coil are one of the many artists featured on the forthcoming Guitar Hero:World Tour console game.
Guitar Hero:World Tour allows players to perform in virtual bands by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different peripherals modeled after music instruments (a guitar peripheral for lead guitar and bass guitar gameplay, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). Lacuna Coil's 'Our Truth' - taken from the album Karmacode, will be included in the game.

I realised yesterday that people over the age of 16 have no excuse to be dressing like this.

And I say this as a paid up member of the 'rock community'.

Lmao, me too, man.
I used to be so into that heavy metal shit but once I graduated from high school I just... grew out of it.
I still love my '80s hair metal, though.

True story - this guy at a party talked for about an hour on what songs he liked and how this one was harder than that one, showed off the blisters on his fingers... He then prattled on (I kind of tuned him out) - something about how he composes his own stuff...

Trying to show interest I asked what kind of guitars he had-

None.
He was talking about Guitar Hero. o.O

I couldn't help but laugh. And this dude was like 29.

Wtf. Guitar hero is like glorified air guitar.
I will never see the fascination with this game. Go buy a real guitar and stop being such a loser.

I play Guitar Hero and the real guitar, and I love 'em both. Why should you have to settle for one or the other?

Settling for one or the other is not the point. You play guitar. You play GH. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the recesses of your mind you distinguish the two.

I should be more clear -- I don't actually have a problem with the game. My problem with GH are those who lost sight of the fact that it is a GAME. Hopefully they choose to stay away from Shooter games.

However I have to admit - if this ever becomes mainstream - screw everything I just said - I'll be first in line :DDDD

I've played the guitar since I was 10 years old. I've never played Guitar Hero. But I've often thought - if people who are addicted to that game spent as much time actually playing a real guitar, they might actually get pretty good at it, and be able to PLAY THE GUITAR AND NOT JUST ACT LIKE THEY ARE.

I don't say it out loud though, because I get too many HOW DARE U reactions :/

I also recently saw an article on some kid who quit school to play guitar hero.

If I was his parent's I'd feed him that thing and see how he felt after.. :D

You can say that about 75% of games, though. Stop playing Madden 07 and start playing real football, stop playing Big Buck Hunter and go to a firing range instead, stop playing Dance Dance Revolution and start to go clubbing.

The learning curve for video games is WAY lower than their IRL counterparts. I can't dance, play football, fire a gun, or wail on the guitar, but I picked up all these games and starting doing reasonably well at them within maybe a 15 minutes. There's a world of difference between spending a week getting decent at Guitar Hero and then rocking out with your friends, and spending a month or more building up the hand strength and calluses and coordination to play guitar well enough to play a song competently.

That's why people get so annoyed with the "pick up a real guitar/gun/football/etc" argument. They're completely different levels of time investment to get up and running.
