My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy remix The Cure

Plus Robert Smith and confirm new album release date

Members of My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy are among a series of bands remixing The Cure for a new single.

AFI, 65 Days of Static and 30 Seconds To Mars are also tackling tracks from the 'Hypnagogic States EP'.

Members from each of the band are tackling the first four singles The Cure released from their new album, which will be released on October 13.

The remixes are:

The Only One' by Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars
'Freakshow' by Jade Puget from AFI
'Sleep When I'm Dead' by Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance
'The Perfect Boy' remixed by Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy
'Exploding Head Syndrome' (all 4 singles) by 65 Days Of Static

Royalties from the EP will benefit the International Red Cross.

Meanwhile The Cure's new album, the band's 13th, will be released on October 13. There is no title for the record as yet.

	That top picture makes for the first time i've ever looked at Gerard Way and been attracted to him. I think this idea would have been more successful if it was remixes of classic Cure songs. (Reply to this)

	^ They toured with The Cure, did remixes at their request and Robert Smith pulled some strings in order to allow all four of their remixes onto the album (by making them into one long 20 minute track). 65 are my favourite musicians ever. I'm super excited. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	D: on another note, i saw the cure in 2004 and it was actually quite depressing to see robert smith all fat and old and still trying to pull off the makeup. similar to boy george imo. anyways, they were fucking fantastic, in case you had any doubts. i'm a musician with near perfect pitch, and their performance gave me chills it was so good. 	I don't pretend to be a big Cure fan but even I'm insulted on behalf of those who are. I mean, you don't get better talent that fucking 30 Seconds To Mars for a some sort of a tribute thing (I'm sure that is what this essentially is)? Weak.
