Will it be called "Forty Candles"?
Could there be a sequel to 'Sixteen Candles'????

Molly Ringwald said she's up for it:




 'It was something that I definitely wanted to
do, but [writer-director] John Hughes wasn't interested, and I didn't feel
comfortable doing it without his involvement. If we can get John to agree, I
think it would be great. I think there are definitely a lot of people who would
love to see it, and I would love to do it. To me, the movie is 80's
perfection...and let's be honest for a sec...you know you'd love to see what
'Long Duk Dong' the foreign exchange student is up to nowadays.'

I think it'd be a serious fail too. The movie is indeed 80s perfection - it doesn't need a sequel, especially not one twenty years ago. But that'd go for any classic 80s film, not just 16 Candles. We don't need Pretty in Pink 2, Breakfast Club 2, Ferris Bueller 2, etc, etc. Leave well enough alone.

she plays the mom of a pregnant teen
it starts soon on abc family, looks boring though

Yeah, I was just about to say this.
I'm getting sick of pregnancy related movies and TV shows, whether the expectant mother is a teenager or an adult. It's really starting to grind my gears.

i saw a preview for the new series she's on on abc family tonight while i was watching mean girls, and that shit just looked so sad, and not in the way they wanted it to. i guess it's about teen pregnancy and shit and being that abc family has a set of morals that are basically from the 19th century it showed the girl saying "it wasn't fun AT ALL" presumably talking about sex... yup. that's just what we need. more little girls being taught to fear, rather than to be responsible with, their sexuality.

ABC Family is actually really oddly okay with sex. It's... kind of weird. They make their shows out like they are all 7th Heaven morals and the like... but all the teenagers are drunk, having sex, and sassing the parents. Kyle XY is a particularly odd example of this. Like the whole show has this weird, uplifting 7th Heaven vibe.... but the kids are
bad
. Like my-parents-would-have-locked-me-in-my-room bad.

idk I'm not really certain what ABC Family is up to. Maybe it's good, maybe it's evil. They send out way too many conflicting messages.
