Spider-Man 4 Targeted for May 2011.

The Los Angeles Times reports that "Spider-Man" franchise producer Laura Ziskin said the fourth installment is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in May 2011.

Already scheduled for the month of May that year are Marvel's own The First Avenger: Captain America on the 6th and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II.

Ziskin added that the screenplay is not finished yet, but that she and Sony Pictures were hopeful Spider-Man 4 could be ready in three years' time.

Neither star Tobey Maguire nor director Sam Raimi is yet committed to work on the next installment, but Sony has paid Marvel to renew its rights.

i remember sitting in the theaters watching S3 and being flabbergasted at how ridiculously terrible it was. i don't even know where to start; the dancing in the street; the part where he walks by a mirror and then goes back to it in order to make his hair emo; his dance solo in the club; stan lee making a cameo to say the cheesiest line ever "i geuss one person really can make a difference."

OMG. it was atrocious.

Okay. It is really random, but what about Matthew Lewis as Peter Parker ? After seeing that b/w pic of him in the last HP thread here I'd have to say he'd be pretty cool. And dude can act the pants off anyone in the HP movies anyway so dude needs his own star making vehicle asap.

The spiderman franchise is one of the biggest money making franchices of all time. And the third one had the biggest opening ever. People will pay to see this crap, and they will pay ALOT.

too true. Its like HP in a way. They just seem to get worse after POA and yet people go see it by the truckloads at each instalment and don't seem to care how much it sucks. I think it all comes down to clever marketing in the end. Your movie may suck, but get a good promoter who knows his/her shit and they can spin cotton into gold threads.
