Shortly after California announced its same-sex marriage ruling, openly gay actor George Takei (Star Trek, Heroes) announced that he would marry his longtime love, Brad Altman.On Tuesday, Takei, 71, and Altman, 54, receive their marriage license in West Holywood.

i was reading the second story on aol last night and wanted to cry. Relationships today don't last 12 seconds. A man and a woman who met a week ago can get married but two people who love each other and have been together for decades can't just because they're the same sex, how is that fair?

I totally feel you on that. I was watching a segment on the news this morning and Phillis (I think she's the one in the blue) plucked some flower petals that were in Del's hair and I thought those women have waited all their lives for a moment like this, thats love. If thats what gay marriage has to look forward to, people really devoted to each other, the whole idea of sanctity of marriage just might have a chance.
