Katie Holmes and 'All My Sons' start performances Sept. 18
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

OR

Curtain up Sept. 18 for Katie Holmes' Broadway debut.

That's the date the former "Dawson's Creek" star and wife of Tom Cruise, begins preview performances in a revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," producer Eric Falkenstein announced Tuesday.

The production, which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, officially opens Oct. 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for a limited engagement through Jan. 11.

"All My Sons" concerns businessman Joe Keller (Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.

Wiest will play Keller's wife; Wilson, his idealistic son; and Holmes, the son's fiancee and daughter of Keller's disgraced partner. The director is Simon McBurney.

Ticket prices for "All My Sons" will inch higher than usual for a play. The top price for all evening performances as well as the Saturday and Sunday matinees will be $116.50, with Wednesday matinees going for $111.50. That's the same price "Equus," starring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths, will charge this fall. No word yet on what premium tickets will cost for "All My Sons," but "Equus" charges $251.50 for premium (best seats in the house) tickets. And it goes higher — $301.50 — for holiday weeks such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

By comparison, "August: Osage County," winner of the 2008 Tony Award for best play, currently has a $110 top price for a non-premium ticket. The revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" charges $96.50 and "Boeing-Boeing," the 2008 Tony winner for best play revival, has a top price of $99.50.

ikr? I thought 'What is Scientology?' when I first read it was a science fiction comedy novel. A bad one at that.

I was watching Batman Begins the other day, and she was the only bad thing in the movie.

Except for the whole water vaporising but not in people's bodies/food/other fluids thing.

This is a good sign. An outlet that will allow her some freedom. Maybe she'll even start looking like a human again.

She looks good in that pic. Not as soulless and dead as she normally does. It's probably because Tom wasn't there.

I feel sorry for her.

She used to go by Kate before they made her pukingly cute for Dawson's Creek. She grows up, has a child and gets married and people freak out because they think she's a brainwashed kid even though she's going to be 30 this year.

Her husband's religion is not any crazier than Christianity or Islam but it makes him a freak because he believes in aliens instead of some zombie dude who walks on water.

She's the girl who people never wanted to grow up.

Hey, that "zombie dude", aka Jesus Christ, is at the very least proven to have actually lived. Regardless of whether you believe he rose after 3 days or not, at least we have proof he was a real person who walked among us at some point in human history. The aliens, on the other hand... not so much.

I do agree though, Kat(i)e's life is a little tragic. The media should have left her alone.

She always seems to jumpy, like she's constantly looking over her shoulder to make sure Tom's not going to sneak attack her and kill her. I bet they have the weirdest sex ever.

Every time I see a repeat of Dawson's Creek now, I notice how they're always watching Tom Cruise movies or quoting Tom Cruise movies or comparing their lives to Tom Cruise movies. And when Joey called someone "glib," I laughed my ass off. It's like a whole new show to me now.
