Does this mean more Green Arrow? 'Cause that's the only chaarcter I like at this point.

Smallville Exclusive: Kara's Future Is Up, Up, Up in the Air



A new development tempers the good news about Allison Mack re-signing, which itself improved the mood after Michael Rosenbaum's Smallvile departure was confirmed: Laura Vandervoort's status as Kara is as up-in-the-air as, well, Supergirl in flight.

As fans noticed in the CW's upfronts announcement earlier this week, "They announced the cast... and I'm not a part of it," Vandervoort tells me, letting out a self-effacing laugh. "We were all surprised when they chose not to bring me back as a regular, but I'm sure I'll be back for one or two [episodes]!"

Looking at the bright side, she notes, "The show is about Clark Kent, and I was honored to be a part of it. I mean, my character became more than it was supposed to be. She ended up sticking around the entire season." Stories even surfaced a while ago suggesting that when Tom Welling hangs up his red jacket and blue tee, Kara might be spun off into her own series.

In the meantime, Vandervoort has a hot summer planned — literally. She's now in Hawaii filming Into the Blue 2, a follow-up to the guilty pleasure starring Paul Walker and Jessica Alba. Chris Carmack (The O.C.) plays LV's partner in deep-sea diving and more. "We have a great cast, including also Marsha Thomason (Lost) and David Anders (Heroes)," she shares. "We're very lucky." Comparing Blue 2 to the eye candy-filled original, she says, "This is more of a suspense thriller. But yes, everyone is in bathing suits and stuff like that!"

I'm more interested in David Anders being in that movie. I wonder if he'll have an English accent?

lol into the blue 2. it's like wild things 2, or cruel intentions 2 and 3.
They'll follow the storyline, just vaguely, but they'll boost the sex as much as they can. Probably direct to DVD/VHS/VCD/Betamax

This show is still on the air? Gosh I gave up on it years ago! lol And is it REALLY a good thing about Allison Mack resigned - i mean they give all the "Chloe" stuff to "Lois" anyway because she's kind of redundant as the Lois of the show now they actually have the Lois! Let the poor girl go actually act somewhere!

I've only seen him play American except for a teensy appearance on So Little Time with MK&A and one episode of Alias and it was SO bizarre to hear him speak like that.

I did like Kara, but I can understand why they wouldn't want to keep her for next year. She had a cute dynamic with Clark in her first few episodes, but most of her storyline seemed to be about their Kryptonian parents which is finished with this year anyway. And then they kept finding new ways to write her out/give her amnesia for a few episodes, so they were obviously struggling to integrate her into the cast. Supergirl never seemed to catch on the way that the Green Arrow did

It would be good if she returns for a few episodes to wrap her storyline up though

No Kara, Lex or Chloe? Fuck you, Tommy boy isn't that cool to watch all season.

But, this makes me happy to see my girl Laura who I basically started watching the show for in other things. Since Instant Star is canceled and I can feel less bitter about her not being on it if she's doing movies.

ITA. the show focused way too much on Supergirl and Lana, and not enough of Clark. we barely saw him this season on the damn show. i really hope they don't bring her back. however, i'm ALL for the return of Green Arrow! yum!
