Stage-Dad Archuleta: "People Don't Like That"

TMZ told you first about the ban on David Archuleta's dad backstage at "Idol," and now Team David is trying to circle the wagons, but unlike David's voice, it rings a little hollow.

People talked to David's voice coach and a guy from Utah who's been working with the "AI" wunderkind on "arrangements" – for the last three years. Stop right there: the kid is 16! How many people does he need? The voice coach says that the ban is "more of a fairness issue than anything else."

And this supposed defense, from the arranger, sounds more ominous than anything: "[Jeff's] involved. He's intense. ... Sometimes people don't like that." Really?

it's like...i want him to lose because his style is so vapid and uninspired
but on the other hand, i don't hate him enought to want him to get jonbenet ramseyed by his dad

I LOLed so hard!! I'm seriously sick of this kid, though. I hate how he's so predictable every week, and plays that lame act like he doesn't know he's good and that he doesn't know people love him. And how he gasps for air and always has chapped lips. Hahahaha.

at first i didn't care if he won, i just wanted him to make the top 2. but now i'm worried that if he loses his dad will cut him up into tiny pieces and bury the parts in a secret location in honduras.

That is a horrible thought. Jeff Archuleta has been demonized all over the net and he doesn't look evil on TV. But of course, you never know.

lol i love how the judges are like we're looking for someone different! fresh! new! yet the top three is the stereotype of every AI contestant: the radio-friendly rock-star (cook), the ~diva~ with a big voice (syesha) and the puppy-faced popstar (archuleta).

i bet the producers and clive want archuleta to win, he's much easier to control and won't throw hissy fits over creative control, like kelly.

Kelly had control on Breakaway. They never wanted her to do 'Since u Been Gone' or 'Because of You' and a few other hit songs. She had to fight to get that.

but she (rightfully) complained and got her way though. archuleta won't, he'd be too afraid: "please mr. davis! don't beat me up like my dad!" and his dad wouldn't be too pleased either.

This poor kid. David seems like a lovely boy and he certainly has a beautiful voice, but he has this inexorable "trained monkey" quality that just makes me so uncomfortable.

I agree. Technically he's wonderful, and I feel like he could be so much more interesting if his stupid father would just back the fuck off. He seems to think of his son as a show dog. "Oh yeah? Look what MINE can do! I'm such a good trainer, I know." He's probably sabotaging any chance the poor kid has at a career.
