Heidi Montag May Want to Think About Registering Before Voting for John McCain

Earlier this week, Hills star Heidi Montag put an end to mounting Beltway chatter by informing the world that she would be voting for creaky war hero John McCain in the upcoming presidential election. She really is a "feminist hero," just like the New York Times said! Except for one minor detail: Montag isn't actually registered to vote.

At least not according to voter registration officials in her hometown, Crested Butte, Colorado, or her current place of residence, Los Angeles County, who told Radar by phone that no one named "Heidi Montag" exists in the database of registered voters. A Lexis search confirmed that Montag isn't registered anywhere else in Colorado, either. (Her rep could not immediately confirm Heidi's voter status). Maybe Radar advice columnist/Montag pal Spencer Pratt knew what he was talking about when he warned her to be careful about making an endorsement!

According to Los Angeles County law, Heidi has up to 15 days before the election to register. To make things easy, we've provided a list of places she can do so here. Oh, and for the record: McCain lost the Colorado primary, where Heidi really could have helped, but won California just fine without her endorsement, thank you very much.

Don't you just have to check a box on your driver's license application to get registered to vote? I thought it was pretty easy.

I don't know about the license thing since I got my license before I was 18, but if I remember correctly, they sent me something in the mail and I turned 18 just a few weeks before the 2004 election, and I was able to vote. I swear to god it was just a form that I mailed back to them to register.

It was a staged photoshoot to show how emotionally hurt she was by the response to her single. It also features her crying in the middle of the street sitting on a conveniently placed chair.

I think that you really shouldn't say shit unless you voted in the primary and general election. Most of my friends who are extremely vocal about who they like either aren't registered or couldn't be bothered to vote in the primary. If this democratic primary didn't get people out, I don't know what would.

It's like back in 2004 when Paris Hilton was involved with the Vote or Die campaign, only to have it revealed that she didn't vote. I don't think she was even registered either.

There was a billboard of her with a VOTE OR DIE shirt near my house.
My friends and I filled water balloons with paint and chocolate sauce and ketchup at it while standing on the roof of the Taco Bell it was above.
