i wonder if people will always suck the dick of a band/artist/group regardless of the garbage they can sometimes put out, just out of the principle of remaining "loyal".

yes, it's exciting to hear beth gibbons' voice again, but the percussion was so painfully literal to the track title, it was irritating as fuck!

this is akin to radiohead fandom; thom yorke et al. could put out a record with ten to twelve tracks of solely banging chopsticks against a toilet bowl and people would still eat the shit up and deem them musical geniuses. there is a bold line that separates musical genius and pretentious assshole.

...don't get me wrong, i love portishead, and i've been waiting for this album for 6 years and counting...

but machine gun? i'm already disappointed.

i'm just saying. you don't have to like it.

I like it but the machine gun noise is fucking annoying. I haven't downloaded the album leak yet cos I'm waiting for the release date. But PLEASE tell me there's no more literal sounds like this :( . I liked the Wicca song they played live, they changed the name but idk what it's called now.
