Hollywood Week has finished taping and the Top 40/50 have been chosen. It is just a matter of time before some definitive spoilers come up — because these Idol wannabes won’t be able to resist no matter what Fox tells them. At any rate, what do we know so far? Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul are all saying that this will be the best Top 24 ever. I’ll wait and see — they’ve been saying that every year.

David Archuleta — Winner of Star Search when he was 12. I totally agree with the Worsters who have commented on David Archuleta — if he gets into the Top 24, he will be pimped to death. Given that he is 16 and what seems like great vocal chops if you’ve seen the YouTube clip (with Kelly Clarkson), this will be American Idol’s second try in capturing the High School Musical market.
