Her boots were made for gawkin'! Celeb stylist Amanda Reno tells Us how Britney Spears could have avoided these footwear faux pas.

Britney's Chloe boots

During an October 1 shopping spree in Beverly Hills, Spears erred by pairing a tiny frock with $1,284 Chloe boots. Reno says a Christian Louboutin platform wedge or Balenciaga gladiator sandal would have been a better match for her minidress. As for the boots: "She should've worn them over a pair of skinny jeans with a rock-and-roll T-shirt," Reno advises. "Then it would look like something a supermodel, say Kate Moss, would wear on her day off."

Britney's black boots

"They're not high enough," Reno says of the black boots Spears paraded during her now-infamous MTV Video Music Awards performance in September. "They should have risen past her knee, or she should've worn a high patent leather heel to make her legs look longer." What would have worked with the boots? Reno recommends a pencil skirt and cashmere sweater.

Britney's Ugg boots

Reno's recommendation for Spears' $154 magenta Ugg boots (which she wore in September in Malibu)? "Burn 'em!" she tells Us. "Britney looks like she just rolled out of bed!" She suggests pairing the pop star's top with "leggings and black ballet flats." For die-hard Ugg fans, Reno suggests sticking with a cream-colored pair, adding, "Pam Anderson looks cute in her Uggs with sweatpants."

Britney's Brown Boots

Color blind? "The brown boot is bad because she's wearing black fishnets and a black hat," Reno says of Spears" look in L.A. on October 1. "I actually love the outfit," says Reno, who dresses Carmen Electra. "But Britney should've worn a gorgeous black Manolo Blahnik stacked heel with ankle strap. She has great legs, and heels would've shown them off!"

Britney's Kenneth Cole boots

Score! Spears' $170 Kenneth Cole boots (which she wore while hitting a Beverly Hills salon with son Sean Preston last May) actually work with this ensemble. However, Reno cautions, "I wouldn't have worn the hat - it's a little too Michael Jackson."
