Girls to spice up your screen
June 28, 2007
THE SPICE GIRLS are plotting to re-release their movie Spice World to kick off a new generation of Girl Power.
The band will officially announce a comeback today with a series of worldwide gigs starting in LA this winter and taking in London’s O2 Arena.
But reunion masterminds know they will have to appeal to kids who were still in nappies the first time round. So they plan to put the 1997 movie back in cinemas for the autumn half-term — and let kids in free.
A source said: “The team want this to be the comeback to beat all comebacks. Today’s youngsters also offer huge merchandising opportunities.”
There are also plans for another Spice Girls film — about the comeback. Footage from the band on the road will be mixed with scenes acted by the girls.
And the Spices could have another surprise lined up, with PRINCES WILLIAM and HARRY desperate to get them involved in Sunday’s Concert For Diana at Wembley Stadium.
There is still one slot to be confirmed for the huge gig after KYLIE MINOGUE ruled herself out for definite.
GERI HALLIWELL and MEL B were seen out and about with their babies yesterday. Mel, above, was in LA catching a flight to London.
I hope motherhood and superstardom aren’t Too Much to cope with . . .
