Lindsay's speedy recovery
Liar, liar, pants on fire. That would be Lindsay Lohan. The actress who was supposed to have had surgery to remove her appendix, miraculously walked out of the hospital a day later. Yes, walked. Not being pushed out in a wheelchair. Rumors of another OD on drugs and alcohol have been swirling around this week and guess they were true. No AA, Lindsay gulps down vodka through water bottles these days. TMZ has a clip of Lindsay being caught while trying to sneak out.

Appendicitis is usually treated with day surgery, I think they are trying to make something out of nothing this time.

I was in the hospital three days after I had mine removed, you don't just walk out the day after.

My brother just had surgery and had his appendix removed. He was out in a day. It depends on whether you have it by laparoscopy or if you have to have an incision. It also depends on the health of the patient. So no, it's not something strange if someone has their appendix removed and they're not incapacitated for a week.

Not saying this is the case for La Lohan. I think she had a different problem.

I think it depends on whether they do it laproscopically or if they do full-on surgery. laproscopic surgery takes only a few hours and you can leave the following day. I had it with my gall bladder.

but I don't like Lohan, so, yeah, she's probably full of shit =)

exactly, i had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago and i got to go home the same day. mind you in a wheelchair, but with laproscopic surgery it's definetly possible if you're otherwise healthy.

Yeah- I'm a post-op nurse and this is totally possible. If she had a lap appendectomy, she would have 2 1-inch incisions. Sometimes people don't even have to stay overnight anymore. All of these stories people are telling about severe pain and week long hospital stays are either due to a ruptured appendix which caused an infection or sepsis, or an open incision. If your surgery is done lap, you get Tylenol the next day and sent on your merry way.

not to defend her or anything, but as far a si know, laparoscopic appendectomies are pretty low-key and often, you're good to walk out the same day.

I believe it's so you can't sue the hospital if you were to fall over or something en route to checking out and then exiting. Once you're outside the hospital, it's your own problem.

I had a laparoscopy and went home the same day. I was so hopped up on painkillers and coming off anethesia that night I went around cleaning my house. I was walking the same way Lindsay's walking. However the next day I paid dearly for it by being in so much pain I had to stay in bed.

i swear, people like Lindsay Lohan disgrace anyone with an ouce of class and respect for themselves. if only these clubs and bars would stop giving special treatment to these underage celebs and stand up to them by saying NO. they would get more respect and stop giving legal partiers a bad name but then you have Britney and Paris to thank for those bad raps.
