As an Australian living in the States, I admire and am so proud of the work of our film and art Talent. Indeed, for some time now, the abundance of talent that Australia has given the world amazed me and an idea was born that I have written to Vanity Fair on many occasions over the last 5 plus years asking them to present the idea to Mr. Graydon Carter. In the past, Vanity Fair has produced special editions including one dedicated to the British. I adore the magazine; always have always will, even in the days it cost me $17 Australian to buy. I shall be a lifetime fan. With the release of Mr. Luhrumann’s film in near future, it may be a golden opportunity to devote a special edition on this great land and the people that helped but us on the map. In keeping with the theme of the magazine, I have played with some ideas. Please note in all honesty and fairness; these are off the top of my head for there are many people and unique places and events to fill up the pages of Vanity Fair – Australia. Anyhow, fair to say not heard back from them to date and guess it needs a bigger name than Francesca Azambuja to get through to GC. If Mr. Luhrumann and his team feel there is some merit in this idea…maybe they can help push this idea to VF. If this were to go ahead, it should have one of our talented Australians as “special editor”.
