I've been searching for this photo in full size for quite a long time now and can't seem to find it anywhere. Or any photos of Regina with them on stage for that matter. Thanks in advance.

In December of 2003, the BBC recorded The Strokes performing a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace. The band tried to master the recording for a live album, but the quality wasn’t up to par. Ryan Gentles, The Strokes’ manager, said that everyone involved thought the potential live album sounded like a really good bootleg.

As a result, the plans for the live album were scrapped and the recording seemed to disappear. Until a couple weeks ago, when Music Induced Euphoria fished the entire record out of the nether and posted it. This song is the first from the band’s playlist. It’s called “Reptilia.”

Enjoy.. :)

You can download the rest of the CD at

Yes.. It's true.. Read if you don't believe..

Thanks to "an ongoing dispute with EMI," it turns out the Danger Mouse/Sparklehorse album part of the Dark Night of the Soul package-- which also includes a book of photographs by David Lynch-- will not get an official release, a spokesperson for Danger Mouse told the Tripwire. "Danger Mouse is unable to release the recorded music for Dark Night of The Soul without fear of being sued by EMI."

That's a shame, I really liked "Little Girl".. :(

Even more exciting fourth album news!

The Strokes Are Back In Action!
March 26, 2009 12:48 PM

For the first time in ages, the Strokes are back in New York, hard at work on album number four in their midtown studio. "We have three songs," Julian Casablancas tells the S.S., three weeks into the sessions. "I would say it's going great. We have a lot of work to do, though."

It's been more than three years since First impressions of Earth, and what's helping the process is good vibes and honesty. "It feels like we're new," says Casablancas. "We didn't used to be honest -- there would always be minifeuds over stupid shit. Now, if Nick [Valensi] and Fab [Moretti] or anyone are saying they like it fast or slow, we'll talk about it, as opposed to saying, 'Well, I never liked you sister.'"

Casablancas says that they've resisted jamming on old tunes; instead they're forging ahead. "Some of the new stuff as a Seventies vibe, like Thin Lizzy or Elvis Costello," he says. "But then some of it is bizarre music from the future that we're trying to tone down to sound catchy. So we're trapped between the future and the Seventies."
