welcome to oh______x an online comumunity for designers, artists, musicians, writers and anyone interested or engaged in producing creative pieces of original work. oh______x is an ongoing and constantly evolving community project that places great importance upon individual participation. it is a project i am undertaking as part of my honours studies, therefore is something that i wish to see suceed. it therefore will not be one of those communitys that appears and dies overnight. there are a number of phases i plan to impliment in order to maintain an effective and fruitful community.

oh______x is an interactive community for individuals to express, share and communicate their ideas and works with other like-minded and creative individuals.
photography (both digital and film), animation, illustration, original music, painting, polaroids, sketches, graphic design, web design, mutimedia, textiles, printmaking, layout design, electronic arts, sound design, journal art, creative writing, fashion design, typography, colour design, film design, set design, snap shots, short films
and anything else of course, including promotion of events, exhibitions, gigs and the likes.
about your moderater
i am currently undergoing my 4th year of study at the university of western sydney. this year having completed my first three years of my B.design (visual communications) degree have been selected to undertake the honours program where i am able to perpetuate my own project and write a thesis. as part of my thesis/project i intend to focus on the importance of community and networking within the design/art/music practices.
le rules
please please please adhere to the following SIMPLE guidelines.
1. only post work that is your own. if you are posting the work of another person (which is encouraged and more than welcome) then please give credit where appropriate.
2. images greater than 550 pixels in width should be posetd under an lj-cut. lets try keep this place as user friendly for everyone, even the dial up kids
3. when posting more than one or two images, please post the following number of images under an lj-cut.
4. images containing nudity, or that are suggestive in nature, should be posted under an lj-cut.
5. constructive criticism when/where requested, is appreciated. any troublemakers will be dealt with accordingly.
in the formation of this community ive undertaken quite a bit of research investigating the current spectrum of lj communitys and ive taken what i believe to be the very best aspects of all of them and smooshed them all in here. but hey im no super moderater community organiser person so if you would like to see changes here please let me know. we want this community to be a forum open of discussion even concerning the layout and workings of the page itself.
so most importantly as far as rules go, lets get some discussion going here! dont worry about being to critical of anothers work. we are all aware that this community contains members with varying ammounts of experience within their chosen mediums thats not the problem the lack of constructive criticism is. remember constructive. not cruel.
ive also noticed some members disallowing comments and directing comments back to their own personal journals. i have no problem with members linking back to their journals or promoting themselves or other comms. that is no problem at all but please do not disable the comment function. this is a community based on discussion. if anyone does do this their post may very well be deleted.
also important. its more of a guideline really. oh-x is a design, art, music and creative writting community. please only post work that you think is of a high quality. please do NOT post pictures of your everyday comings and goings. that is for your own personal journal.
