Oguri Shun appeared at a press conference held after the preview event of the 

new movie ‘TAJOMARU’, in which Oguri plays the leading role!

People were surprised to see Oguri’s head cleanly shaved!!

Asked about his ‘hairstyle’ Oguri replied “I was told that I should say that 

this was meant to show my enthusiasm for ‘TAJOMARU,’ but actually that isn’t the case.”

Apparently he had to shave for his role in a TV drama currently being filmed. 

Even without his hair, the handsome Oguri still remained handsome.

Since it was near Tanabata, he also showed his ‘wish’! [Tanabata（夕）: 

Based on Japanese folklore, on July 7th people write down wishes on pieces of paper 

and hang them from bamboo branches (and hope the wishes come true)]

Oguri said “I wrote ‘I wish that I could become freer.’ I feel that the ‘freedom’ I have right 

now is not true freedom. I want to become ‘spiritually’ free.”

Let’s hope a ‘freer’ Oguri will become an even greater actor.

Something came to my mind. Normally I never do polls when it comes to community changes/rules, but for this time I'm going to make an exception.


I've been thinking to separate downloads from the rest of Shun related stuff like news, interviews, interviews translations, photos, reports and such.

This will help to make the downloads much more organized and easy to find. I think a simple download:movie or download :dramas, for example, is extremely general but I wouldn't want to fill the main comm with a lot of tags.

Also it would help to make the main community ( oguri_shun ) more organized too, for just important info or/and fanworks.

I personally think it would be a good change, the new one will be also run by me so things won't change at all.

Shun looking pretty tasty in his new CM. 

Well these are all the icons i made of my new "boyfriend" (only joking ;) ) [Well i'd like to see myself with a guy like that]

Popular actor Shun Oguri (26) is taking on his first directing job. While actors becoming directors is nothing new, this is said to be the first case for a star still in his twenties. The movie's official title is still unknown, but those close to the project are apparently calling it "Surely Someday."

Oguri, who is currently overseas for work, plans to start shooting this summer. Details are sparse, but the film is said to be a story of adolescence that will feature a cast of handsome actors.

Oguri has wanted to try directing for a long time. He was able to get this project rolling with the help of producer Mataichiro Yamamoto, who heads Oguri's management agency Tristone, and his father, stage director Tetsuya Oguri. The actor has already done a little directing, working on the short "manner CM" that played in theaters for "Crows ZERO II."

"Surely Someday" is expected to open in theaters next year.

I was wondering if anyone has bought the Media Blasters release (I think they release their US/Canada only? Or...) of Crows Zero. I'm hoping to buy it soon since I just found out about the release like 5 days ago. So anyways if anyone has it: what are the special features, and how is the dub (I'm pretty sure it has one)?

Not sure if it's been posted...here is the synopsis of the movie:




Tajomaru, a 2009 film based on the 1922 short story In a Grove by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, which recounted a single event from 7 different perspectives after the fact. The story is probably best known for being the basis for Akira Kurosawas award-winning 1950 film, Rashomon, but instead of being a remake, this version creates an entirely new backstory for the bandit character, Tajomaru.

In the film, Shun Oguri plays Naomitsu, the second son of the Hatakeyama family and fiance of Princess Ako (Yuki Shibamoto) who gets chased away from his home as the result of a conspiracy against him. Naomitsu flees into the mountains with Ako, but theyre soon attacked by a bandit named Tajomaru (Hiroki Matsukata). After managing to kill Tajomaru, Naomitsu takes the bandits identity as his own.
