college. university. majors. time. [20 Nov 2008|03:10am] filmsandspace Can we talk about college? i'm attending Judson University and it's an Evangelical school. I have no problem (well, a little bit) taking christian courses, i just hate the fact that I have to do community service within that and attend a certain amount of chapel sessions a semester. I don't live on campus (it's close enough to home/can afford with scholarship money...which is why i'm going there) so i don't have this ample amount of time to just waste. I have a job, pay for everything except rent/utilities on my own and i don't feel satisfied. i know with wherever i end up, i'm going to be in debt up to my eyeballs. I am an architecture major. I am considering hopping into the peace corps. but that seems like, for me, it'd be a scapegoat because i'm sick of homework. i want to help people, i want to do all of these things, i'm just going through a bum time because it's winter and i miss the sun. =( Can anybody recommend good Architecture program schools? Otherwise, Talk about your college or where you hope to attend in the future. I'm sure the grade 12 kids are all dreading the admissions process. If you don't want to talk about your school, I guess we can talk about your major. help me, quick! [15 Nov 2008|09:28pm] dearauntsally I just started this new job at whole foods. This really nice and outgoing guy is throwing a big party tonight and mostly everyone that works there is going. I don't know anyone at all and I really want to make work friends. I was really was depending on someone to go with so it wouldn't be awkward. I'm one of those people who are really quiet at first but once you get to know me I won't shut up. All my closest friends are busy tonight and my last resort is one of my male friends who is kind of loud/annoying/doesn't drink/not much fun. I also don't really want to go with a guy because I'm desperately single and really want to meet my potential soulmate (he works in seafood.) Should I go to this party alone? Have you ever gone to parties alone? What should I do if I go?! Any lame tips on how to be a ~*~social butterfly~*~? I also can't drink a whole lot because of this medicine I got off of. Liquid courage, which sadly is usually what gets me over my social anxiety, isn't really an option. Uhhh I'm about to go out to eat and I'm going to check your comments on my phone. But they've grown on me and I'd like to wear them in "real life". They're not my usual style at all so I have no idea how to wear them (other than w/ skinny jeans and a tshirt) How would you wear them? I couldn't find a picture of them so imagine this hideous thing is black with blue/white striped fabric on the folded over part. ETA: well, i'm still going to wear them. Today at Buffalo Exchange I found them for $140 less then they would be, and a size too small. I know you can stretch leather, I found all sorts of hits on google about it. My question is, have any of you ever stretched a pair of leather boots, either had it done by a professional or done it yourself? Were you happy with the results? I think that I'm going to buy the boots, stretch them and hope for the best (I can always return them or sell them back to Buffalo if it doesn't work, so it's minimal risk). (2)
