This is a mix in three parts, part one is deals with the immediate aftermath of Amber's death and the effect it has on House and Wilson's relationship. Part Two is about Wilson and House realizing that they need each other and attempting to reconnect and part three is about Wilson and House realizing that they are together for the long haul, regardless of that happens.

This is mix in three parts, part one is about Wilson and Amber's relationship before the accident, their initial caution in entering into a relationship and the happiness they quickly found with each other. Part two is mostly from Wilson's perspective and deals with his emotions as her condition deteriorates following the bus crash and the immediate aftermath of her death and part three is about Wilson attempting to move on and finally coming to terms with Amber's death.

Summary: He sits down, three stools up from leather jacket guy and directly in front of the bartender's cash register.
Notes: Inspired by savemoony's The Odd Couple Challenge. One version of House and Wilson's first meeting. Also if you see any Australianisms in this, burn them with matches and gasoline.

When Wilson enters the bar there are only two other people in the room, the bartender and a guy wearing a black leather jacket and worn jeans. Neither of them looks like they want to be interrupted.

He briefly contemplates going home before remembering that right now he doesn't have one to go to, so instead he sits down, three stools up from leather jacket guy and directly in front of the bartender's cash register.

"Vodka, neat," he mumbles at the bartender, staring down at the cardboard coaster in front of him.

"Straight vodka at two in the afternoon?"

Wilson snaps his head the right in the direction of the voice and finds a set of wide blue eyes staring intently at him.

"Bad day," Wilson replies, his voice tense.

"I figured." The guy's voice is rough and he is slurring a little.

"What's your excuse?" Wilson asks, "You are hammering down straight Scotches in the middle of the day."

"Do I need an excuse?" The guy has slipped, effortlessly, into defensive mode.

"No," Wilson smiles slightly.

There is a few seconds silence before the guy speaks again "I lost a patient, a kid."

"You're a doctor?" Wilson knows that the question is ridiculous but he feels the need to ask anyway.

"No, I'm a vet." The guy's voice takes on a sarcastic tone.

Wilson laughs dryly "I lost a wife."

The bartender hands Wilson the vodka he ordered, he examines the glass for a second before downing the contents in one swallow before adding "What I mean is that she kicked me out, she's not dead or anything."

"You still win," the guy replies, signaling the bartender to refill both their glasses.

Summary: The matress is too soft and the sheets too rough.
Notes: The most literal interpretation of 'my lover's bed' possible, No dialogue.

Sam’s sheets are pale blue (this makes her giggle like a schoolgirl momentarily until she realizes that he is still fast asleep) and rough under her skin.

His mattress is too soft, enough to make her back ache and she can feel the springs in her back, the foam and fabric that are supposed to separate her from the coils is almost worn through from age (or way too much sex. She still wonders if she is the only woman he has had an affair with, he swears that she is but the very fact that he had an affair in the first place… just makes her wonder, that is all.)

He is uncomfortably close to her, the mattress dips in the middle and forces her to be close to him, he is sweaty and hot and his breath smells like garlic and wine, she can taste it too. It makes her want to gag.

Yet she still fells more comfortable (and happy) than she has in a long time, maybe it is because she is just like Lily and she needs a man to feel safe or maybe it is simply that she is tired of waking up alone.

Casey stopped reading the letters after the first three years.

Every third Friday of every month, he placed the newest letter in a shoebox (that once contained Charlie's now long gone red chuck taylor's) he kept closed with aging rubberbands that threatened to persish and snap at any moment.

Afterwards he returned the shoebox to it's hiding place underneath a sloppy pile of old plaid shirts in the back of his otherwise tidy closet and tried to pretend it didn't exist.

When the letters stopped coming Casey didn't need to read the last one to know what it said.

Dan clicks his pen, finding the sound comforting as he stares at the envelope with Casey’s address printed neatly on the front.

He knows what he wants to say and how to say it (he has always had a way with words) but he is finding these words, succinct and permanent (at least in his mind) almost physically impossible to write, feeling as if he could collapse (and maybe even die) under their weight.

With one last click of the pen he finally puts pen to paper and scrawls a single word, it, he decides is all that is needed.
