Cross-dressing flasher doused with boiling water by bikini barista

12:23 PM PDT on Wednesday, August 20, 2008

By DREW MIKKELSEN, KING 5 Staff

PARKLAND, Wash. -- A Parkland barista was accused of throwing a cup of boiling water at a man who deputies said had repeatedly flashed the woman.

The woman wears a bikini while she serves coffee at "Java Girls."

Investigators say the man was wearing women's underwear and had come to the stand harassing baristas at least three times.

A surveillance camera at the coffee stand recorded the barista throwing the hot water at the man.

Pierce County deputies said they have a person of interest they are trying to question about the incident.

Deputies have responded to similar calls this summer. At the same time, coffee stands featuring bikini-clad baristas have become more common.

"I can't say there's a direct correlation between these places and these incidents," said Pierce County Det. Jerry Bates, "But it's something we're watching for out there."

You Lot! Cheeky Bastards
You, are becoming Gods. There's a new master of creation, and it's you! Unraveled DNA, and at the same time you're cultivating bacteria strong enough to kill every living thing! Do you think you are ready for that much power? You lot? You lot? Cheeky bastards. You're running around science like kids with guns, creating a new world, while the world you've got is stinking, but, hands up, hands up anyone who thinks you've got it right. Yeah, there's always one. I can see you. If you want the position of God then take the responsibility.

And here I was getting all giddy listening to Orbital - The Blue Album, because I thought it was Christopher Eccleston as Dr. Who and I thought it was going to be in an episode I hadn't seen yet. Bummer it was only him as Stephen Baxter in the British TV Miniseries The Second Coming.

Used up all my Dr. Who fangirl giggliness for nothing. :(

Oh well, at least I can IMAGINE it was Christopher Eccleston as Dr. Who. Now wouldn't that make for an awesome fanfic episode?

p.s. that miniseries looks like it would be pretty awesome. anyone know where I can get my hands on it?

woof
blah blah..went to work.
Another sort of mixed night, with slightly apeshit moments and slow moments.
It turns out that my coworker tonight is dating a guy who used to run the Paris Theatre...and it sounds like it's right around or just after the times I played there with Cerulean Winter and Nefarium.
It sounds like he took over just after Hugo dropped the place....but she didn't know the name of the owner before him, so I could be slightly off.
Her dude gave her a mixed CD, but she wasn't digging it....I was, mostly, but if she's running the CD player, I'm not gonna be a hater..
It had Skinny Puppy, Thrill Kill Kult, Einsturzende Neubauten, NIN, that "why are you shouting at me?" song that actually annoys me a little, a very odd remix or remake of Welcome To The Paradise from Front242, and The Bog from Bigod 20...although that sounded quite a bit different as well, not sure if it was a remix or a remake.

I never got around to building my rain board last night...I'm gonna try to do it before bedtime tonight, but first I'm watching September Dawn...a Mormon jihad movie...or something.
If I don't go right to bed, I'll put it together.
I wanted to skate tonight, but left everything here.
...but I'm also pretty tired.

Tonight Lupa and I had dinner with [info]singswithtrees, her partner Tyson, and their friend Katrina. I had a good time. I listened with absolute fascination about stories of sailing and living on a boat and also different clothing styles and how those styles were made. The teriyaki was also delicious.

I love the opportunities I get to get a glimpse into the lives of other people. I sometimes won't talk much, not because I don't have anything to say, but because I want to listen to what other people are doing, because it is different from what I do. Tonight was one of those nights for me. Good company, good food, and fascinating stories.

One more post on ODS
Yes, I really am still in shock over the whole thing. It still seems very surreal at this point.

After talking with James (Sister Reva Lation, who also works there in the same department), I am convinced that if I had a different supervisor that I would still be working there. My supervisor was very anal retentive and conservative. She's been bugging James for weeks now and he's been telling me to watch my back with her. I never took his comments too seriously. But I think he's right that her perception of me became reality. I think she saw me as someone who was slightly alternative - with my involvement in the Sisters and my shrine to Antinous on my desk - and someone willing to push the envelope. She and I just didn't click and I think she just went to her manager (whom she had worked with at her previous job) and said I wasn't working out for her and the manager just went along with it. I really think it is as simple as all that. Because there simply were no issues with my job performance, and they even admitted that when they were firing me.

It probably doesn't do me any good to keep playing it over and over in my mind like this. But man, it really does suck to be fired and not have a clearly defined reason why.

Remembering the days (Warning rant ahead)
...when PUBLIC school use to be FREE for all to attend. (Well except for lunches, clothes, etc) Remember then?

My daughter is starting Middle school -Twality-, 6th grade! Not looking forward to school clothes buying or getting her supplies, but started and knew it was coming... so not really a big deal, and the actual looking at stuff is fun, they've got some really nifty supplies now-a-days. However...

Today in the mail we received her new school info packet. With bus routes and supply list and such. Cool. Then reading further the real fun stuff began.
8$ Atlas (6th graders - required)
15$ PE Uniform (Required)
20$ Student Body Fees (Required)
150$ Outdoor School (6th graders only - required) {{& Just what in the hell is outdoor school? Something akin to camp?, it has an overnight stay, that I know... but THAT's all I know about it/best guess... when do I get the info for that? WHY in the HECK is it REQUIRED?}}
20$ Yearbook (Optional) {{Yeah, like we'd get that after seeing the above)}

YELP, that's 193$ REQUIRED extra dough that seems needed to be forked over so my daughter can attend school in my district. Oh and the nerve of the packet/principle letter to state that (School starts the 3rd, like two weeks from now) they wanted to give us a heads up to have enough time to plan to pay for it. (Ending of last school year might've been a better heads up, you think?)
193$ dollars is a lot of money for those on a budget or not fucking RICH. (At the beginning of the month too, can we say rent time?)... What do they do if someone doesn't/can't pay? Kick the kid out of PUBLIC school... sue the parents? What? Is there a your family is too poor to attend normal public school alternative public school out there? Make the kid wear a I'm poor sign?
Though if you qualify for free/reduced lunches you still have to pay these fees, but you can make payments. (We don't qualify)

Just throwing this $tidbit$ in for the fun of it -
Lunches - $2.80, $.50 more if you want a carton of milk with that. That's 14 dollars a week, or $56 a month... without milk or breakfast - breakfast is $1.75, and another 50 cents if you want milk with it. Can you imagine having more than one kid in middle school? SHESH!!!
(How'd you go into bankruptcy Jim? My kids are in middle school!)

I'm not liking this start to the new school year... Also on a sidenote, music is a required class... either band, orchestra, or choir.
Yeah, we picked choir (No extra cost like with band or orchestra... you know small things like instruments and band uniforms.)
My daughter is not musically inclined... has NO interest in it what-so-ever. She's an artist, you know drawing and paint and such. Think they offer art? Nope. I swear if homeschooling wasn't such a pain in the a$$ I'd be pulling her out of this crap.

Sorry all, thus ends rant........ for now :P

I didn't see THAT coming...
I got fired today.

I'm still somewhat shocked.

I got fired from ODS.

There was no specific reason given. It was totally bizarre and surreal. I was simply told that I wasn't getting along well, and they didn't think I was a good fit. WTF?

Basically, my supervisor and I didn't click well. I really think that's the bottom line. There were never any outright arguments or anything like that. But we didn't click well.

But yeah, I was on time, clocked in and out for breaks on time, was doing my job, getting good feedback on call audits. I even asked the manager if she had ever listened to one of my calls. Her answer was no.

The only specific I could get was that I wasn't taking direction well. When I asked what that meant they said it didn't matter, that the decision had already been made, and that Oregon was an at-will state and they could terminate me whenever they wanted.

Again, it was totally bizarre. I have never been fired for a vague, obscure reasons. I keep saying how strange it is, but I truly am in shock. This is the last thing I expected.

WTF?

So I spent a good deal of my vacation painting my new room. Sarah moved out and I moved in. Painting sucks monkey ass. I don't have the entire loft painted yet, but most of it is done. I mostly just need to paint the trim. Painting the white trim with like 3 coats of black paint (because cheap ass jew lady who owns the house painted everything with surplus outdoor paint) started getting annoying. So I went to WalMart and bought 5 cans of black spray paint. I have to do it a section at a time because the spray paint gives me headaches in my close confines of my room. I've been leaving the door closed so I don't aerate the rest of the house.

I still need to build my workbench as well as the shelving thingie in my loft. I also want to paint some designs in the loft. The front corner is a large triangle, and I thought I'd paint a large triangular mandala on it, but I can't find any triangle mandalas. Anyone have a pattern or example they'd care to share with the rest of the class?
